I would always laugh when arnold said Lisa was ugly, and she smelled, and looked liked a creature. She was none of those things to me. I really liked DS more when she appeared. The Lisa Hayes character should have said those things to Arnold.-LOL. We all know who the real creature was-LOL.

Everybody knows that usually when a boy makes fun of a girl, or vice versa it really means that they like them. Usually when a person truly dislikes someone, they just ignore them, and don't give them the time of day. I never took Arnold's comments too seriously because it was always obvious to me that he had a crush on her. To me when he told her she smelled bad, what he was really saying was that she smelled like roses. When he called her ugly, he was really saying that she looked like a supermodel. That has always been my point of view of the whole Arnold/Lisa feud.

It'a shame the arnold character was never given a steady girlfriend in the later seasons.

Yeah, I agree. As someone mentioned before, at times in the shows final season it seemed like Arnold had a new girlfriend for every show. I think Arnold's love life is one of the areas where the writers got the most sloppy in the final season. All I can say is thank goodness the show ended when it did. Can you imagine where the writers would have taken the Arnold character had this show lasted another season?
