Can someone tell me which episode this quote is in? June says "Ward, Wally's best friend is Eddie Haskell, and yours is Fred Rutherford. What's wrong with this family?" Ward says, "Well, dear, can I help it if Wally and I are humanitarians?" This is in the book, The World According to Beaver on page 85 and I've been trying to figure out which episode it's in, but I can't find it. Does anyone know?

Wow, was Fred really Ward's best friend? It seemed that Ward was always putting him down with some really subtle zingers.
Well, Ward didn't seem to have any other close friends he did things with, so I guess you could say that Fred was his best friend. Although you have to wonder why, since Fred usually manages to annoy Ward when he's around. Ward does sort of subtly put Fred down sometimes, though Fred doesn't seem to catch on. In the episode Beaver's Long Night, Fred tells Ward that he considers him his closest friend.
