OMG, I couldn't believe this---somehow I managed to never see this part of this episode:

It's the one where Sam is fed up with Carla and Diane's animosity, and Carla makes up that story that Sam's the father of one of her children.

Well, after the climactic blowup when they're hauled into Sam's office, after their big ol' laugh-fest, Carla goes to leave and turns to Diane and says:

"You're alright."

:eek: :eek: :eek:

Was anyone else as shocked the first time they witnessed this??

I mean, Rhea stated in the 100th episode special Carla did NOT like Diane, and in the episode where she sleeps with John Allen Hill, Sam yells at her that she hated Diane (but she said she just "greatly disliked her" or somethin', lol).

Anyway, I just couldn't believe she told Diane she was "alright". I guess it was mostly from bein' on the high of the hysterical laughter they all just had together, sharin' the pictures in her wallet, etc.

Plus, her next line was, "I'll get back to ya" (on when she and Diane could go see a movie, lol).

And I think in one of these early shows, Carla said "Thank you" to Diane.

Funny, all these years and I never knew Carla gave Diane a compliment!

yea well the early years Carla and Diane weren't mortal enemies...actually their relationship was more on the Rebecca-Carla lines. Carla started to "hate" diane when diane went out with Sam. Thats when she started to make more fun of her and they got into there real fights. Thats because Carla knew that the only person that could keep Sam from being Sammy the "hound" was diane. Because she knew that if there ever was a person Sam would marry and really fall in love with, and grow old together it was diane

Hmmm...true, they didn't know each other very long here, so that makes it easier. Good point.

I don't know if she thought Diane could get Sam to settle down forever though, cause S&D sure drove each other crazy, lol...:p
