Who played the first DJ on Roseanne

His name was Sal Barone or something like that. He was only in a couple of episodes and then Michael Fishman replaced him but Sal's name kept popping up off and on in the 1st season credits.

I remember the 1st episode of Roseanne he was in it and he wanted to eat pie for breakfast and roseanne says "Tell him no":lol: then he suddenly looked different... the weird land of television:wave:

I wonder if her and the first Becky ever got into a fight

So, they fired him because Sara Gilbert couldn't help beating him up. If that were true then they would have fired her.

Goes to show how much I pay attention..lol, I have that episode, and actually watched it the other day and didn't even notice that DJ was different. He was so young, I didn't even think about it. Weird...thanks for the info tho :)

When Sara was on The Roseanne Show (They had a reunion of some of the cast) Roseanne said child protection were brought in cause Sara and Sal got into fights all the time.

Sara remembers the fights but not the child protection. She does remember being told that if she didn't get along with the new DJ that she would be fired.

He was only in the first episode I believe. I could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

You're right. He was only in the Pilot episode.

It's better that they replaced him. i know he was very young and a little boy but he seemed too shy... I dunno, Michael fitted the job better, plus before Roseanne had plastic surgery and when DJ was young (First few episodes) Roseanne and DJ looked very alike, almost as if they were rally mother/Daughter. As the show went on, they still looked similar, but not as much as when the first show started.

I can't remember where, but I read that Roseanne liked Michael Fishman better than Sal Barone so they hired him. Michael joining the case could have also contributed to Sara and Sal's fights. And if you compare the pilot to the 2nd episode, even thought Sal is only in the show for a minute, you can definatly tell that even in Michael's first episode, he was a better actor than Sal.

Does anyone have a picture of Sal Barone playing DJ?

There was a thread a while back called "Thoughts on Sal barone" which was about him. I personally can't stand him, I'm glad they replaced him.
