Bill Quinn who played Dr. Melnitz on The Odd Couple was later on an ep of Quincy playing a doctor diagnosing Dr. R. Quincy (Jack Klugman) to have an ulcer. Very similar to the early OC ep where Melnitz showed Oscar he had an ulcer. Since Garry Walberg was Speed on the Odd Couple and Lt. Monahan (Sp?) on Quincy I take it Klugman was responsible for Walberg and (more briefly) Quinn appearing in both shows.

OMG...it took me way too long to realize that Garry Walberg was Speed. I saw that on imdb and almost fell off my couch. But yeah...Jack must have had a hand in the casting.

Too bad Tony Randell was never on Quincy. THAT would have been classic.
