For my birthday, I got the "Babalu Music!" CD! It's a great CD for any die-hard Lucy fans! I'm listening to it right now. It has all the songs that Desi sang on ILL!

Do you also have the video, Babalu Music? that's to die for!

(Pricks up ears) A video? Does that contain clips from the show, or is it live performances? I have the CD, and that's certainly jolly good (I'm assuming it's the same one as is available over there).

All clips from the show, including this unbelievable video at the end, a disco version type Lucy/Desi montage, the best thing i've seen of them in years!

I have enjoyed listening to my new CD, but every time I hear the song,"El Cumbanchero," I don't remember which episode it was in. Can anybody tell me?

Also, I have thought of a wonderful idea. There are so many other good Lucy songs on "I Love Lucy." They should make another CD that features just Lucy/Fred/Ethel. I have been thinking up many more of Lucy songs. Like, they could have when Fred sings "Red Red Robin," Ethel's "Shortenin' Bread," and many others. (That's the only two I can think of at the moment) So, does everybody else agree that this is a great idea?! I don't know who to write to, or whatever, to suggest it.

Eek! Sorry, but that'd be a CD I'd run a mile from! :) It's just that I really hate that kind of music. The kind of songs grandparents are supposed to sing. El Cumbanchero (which I will now have stuck in my head for the rest of the evening. Thanks for that!) was in 'Lucy Is Jealous Of Girl Singer'. Who wasn't really a girl singer. But Lucy was jealous of her anyway.

A CD of Fred and Ethel? Nah, you need to SEE them making goo goo eyes at each other, not just hear them!

Is Lucy's imitation of her singing Carmen Miranda's Mama Yo Quiero from Be A Pal on that tape??? If so, definitely want to get that tape.:)

Here are the songs on "Babalu Music!" for anyone that's interested. Later, I'll scan the picture on the cover of the CD.

1. Babalu Music
2. I Love Lucy theme (vocal)
3. El Cumbanchero
4. Cuban Pete
5. Babalu (of course!)
6. We're Having a Baby (My Baby and Me)
7. There's a Brand New Baby at Our House
8. We'll Build a Bungalow
9. Straw Hat Song
10. By the Waters of the Minnetonka
11. California, Here I Come
12. Nobody Loves the Ump (with Bob Hope)
13. Jingle Bells
14. The Lady in Red
15. I'm On My Way to Cuba
16. Guadalajara
17. Down Argentine Way
18. In Acapulco
19. Granada
20. I Love Lucy theme (instrumental)

One thing that gets me is that they didn't have the Babalu song when Little Ricky sang it with Ricky. The first song is like a mixture of all the songs with a little dialogue thrown in. Vitamitavegimin is part of the dialogue. It's my favorite song on the CD.

LOL about the shirt! Oh, and Babalu (The I Love Lucy songs) is an awesome cd. I got it for Christmas. I wish they put Cuban Cabbie on the cd, I love that one. I thought it was weird that they put Jingle Bells on the cd ~ it just comes out of nowhere.

It would be cool if there was another cd with lucy/fred/ethel songs. I love Fred and Ethel's vaudvillian songs. They probably wouldn't have the same effect without watching them perform it but I would definitly buy it. And I always get Shortnin' Bread (sp?) in my head. (ooh I made a rhyme)

I'd buy the CD just for the Straw Hat song. Do they sell it at regular music stores?
