I heard they found the bodies of a woman and a fetus out in California. They might be Laci Peterson and her unborn son :crying: My heart and prayers go out to her loved ones. Maybe it wil turn out to not be her, but I feel it is.

Regardless of whether or not it is Laci Peterson, it's still a tragedy. A woman and her baby are dead.

:(

I know. Your heart and prayers go out to her family? What if it's not her? It's still just as horrible.

I'm sure the poster of the post didn't mean it like that. It's a horrible tragedy, no matter who the woman is.

I was just going to say the same thing. Geez. :( There seems to be a lot of vindictivness on this board and it's really sad. :(

Sadly, I think it is Laci. I just have this terrible gut feeling.

Does anyone else think that the husband was also involved in the murder?

Based on what they've released to the news, and I watched the Today Show this morning, I also think that it is probably her :(

And yes I think her husband is involved.

If it is her I will be sad for her and her family. No one deserves a faith like that. :crying:

In my heart I feel her husband had something to do with her dissappearance. I hope the authorities do find Laci. Hopefully alive with her beautiful baby. If this body is Laci than her killer will have to pay for his/her sins. :(

I also think it's Laci. But if it's not her, I still feel for the family of whoever it is. :(
I hope the body won't be one of those that isn't identified for years. That's very sad too...

My intuition is telling me that it is her too. :(

This evening someone (in authority) told Laci's parents that a body was found and could be their daughter. That sounded strange to me. Usually people wait until the body is identified. :(

I'm sure they already knew and if they didn't then they don't watch TV or read newspapers. I live on the east coast and it is in MY LOCAL small town podunk newspaper.

Laci Peterson's remains identified

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/04/18/remains.found/index.html

SACRAMENTO , California (CNN) -- DNA tests confirmed Friday the bodies of a woman and a baby boy found in the San Francisco Bay area were that of Laci Peterson and her son.

Peterson, eight months pregnant with a son who was to be named Connor, disappeared from her Modesto, California, hometown on December 24.

Her husband, Scott, was arrested Friday in San Diego and taken back to Modesto.

"There is no question in our minds that the unidentified female is Laci Peterson and the unidentified fetus is the biological child of Laci and Scott Peterson," said California Attorney General Bill Lockyer.

Lockyer said the chances of the Petersons not being the parents of the boy were in the billions. The Contra Costa County Coroner is to make the final formal identification. Laci Peterson was due to deliver her son February 10.

Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton said Scott Peterson likely would be charged with double capital murder early next week, but he said prosecutors would not necessarily seek the death penalty.

The bodies washed ashore Sunday and Monday in separate locations about two miles from the marina at Point Isabel Regional Park on San Francisco Bay, about 80 miles west of Modesto.

A passer-by discovered the woman's badly decomposed remains Monday less than two miles away from where those of the baby boy were found a day earlier.

Forensic teams could not immediately identify the bodies and Contra Costa County coroner's office called in a forensic anthropologist to examine the remains.

DNA tests were conducted because the body was missing its head, sources close to the investigation told CNN. Without the skull, investigators could not use dental records, the quickest tool in body identification.

Modesto police recently reclassified the Peterson case as a homicide.

Investigators twice searched the Petersons' home, and impounded Scott's car and boat shortly after Laci's disappearance. Police had not called Scott Peterson a suspect in the case.

What a pig. He just looks guilty! Hopefully a "fair and impartial" jury will find him guilty.

I agree, he has looked guilty from the day Lacey disappeared. Plus he never really cooperated with the police, and doesn't seem strange that when the remains were found that he ended up in San Diego I believe or in that area. I think if he is found guilty, which I believe he will, he should get the death penalty.

That's terrible. :( I mean, it's nice to have closure, but...still. I think Scott will definitely get the death penalty.

If he didn't want her or love her and the baby. Why didn't he get a divorce? There are so many people doing this now. I just saw the biography of a football player name Rae Carruth. He also hired someone to kill his significant other. The woman got shot at 4 times and she was 8 months pregnant. She didn't die fast enough and was able to give his name to the authorities. She also wrote his name down in the hospital before she passed away. The baby survived but, has cerebal palsy. The woman died though. :(
