OMG i lOVE the first episode!!!!! wasn't it great? I hadn't seen it since last October! It's the essence of Cheers! I was soooo happy when i saw it!

i totally agree with you, i love the first episode. another great quote from it is

Usually "pilot" episodes stink, but Cheers was great.

Give me a ring sometime won an Emmy for best writing(comedy series) in 1983. Not too bad for a first episode.
