I just said I remember a show that broadcast on channel 5 in New York and thought it was Midday Live with Bill Boggs that had that theme.

That show could have aired in other states as well.

Or it could be an entirely different program.

I distinctly recall that song (instrumental) being used for an afternoon show similar to what dlemond is referring to.

I see I am resurrecting a way old thread. Well, I am doing research on NY television from the '70s and '80s, and going through my memories, I do remember the song being played somewhere on WNEW. Maybe for that, or maybe a community calendar-type spot? All I know is when I heard the song as an adult, I thought of Channel 5, and hearing it for some reason before the Flintstones came on.

If anyone can follow this hunch up, with like memories or even with audio/visual evidence, it would be greatly appreciated!

Are you saying it was used as the theme song? I can't find anything online to support this claim. It was probably used as an outro on some news and talk shows.

The Stanley Siegel Show theme is from 1977. Feels So Good wasn't released until 1978.

I was trying to remember where I heard it. It's not the same theme, but The David Letterman Show (1980 NBC morning show) theme sounds somewhat similiar. I could understand if people thought it was the same instrumental composition. Michael McDonald of The Doobie Brothers wrote the smooth jazz opening theme.
