Gary did a phone interview with Howard Stern today. As of Jan. 1, 2001, Gary is refusing to answer "Diff'rent Strokes" questions. The guy wants to move on.

Somehow I can't imagine that's going to stop people from asking him about it and eventually he will relent on that. It should have been such a happy time for him and deep down I know he had to have liked his Diff'rent Strokes days..

Yea, Gary should be happy to talk about those days. Life was so simple back then and not to mention that is a part of fame! If it
wasn't for the fans, how would they become so damn rich!!!! If we didn't watch them,they
would be nothing!!

I don't know, it's sort of something you'd expect. All the stars of eighties televison seem to want to move on (I won't name any names, but 'Facts of Life' anyone?). Yet in the end that's all that they are going to be remembered for, ESPECIALLY in Gary Coleman's case. And I think he will resent that statement in the future, as said by TJ.

Hasn't Coleman kind of bottomed out, though, and is no longer rich? Just from watching the E! True Hollywood story about Different Strokes, they painted a very dark image of the entire DS experience for Dana, Gary, and Todd. Maybe Gary genuinely has no fond recollections of his experiences on DS.

i think he probally wants to but ds behind him and move on with his life:)
