I know Balki's nationality was supposed to be fictional,but don't you get the feeling that the idea for his nationality was based on Greece/Greek?His name,the way he dressed,his accent are all very Greek-like.Anyone agree?

Yeah. I think he was in fact supposed to be Greek, but I never heard confirmation of that.

I believe is actually in fact, Greek. I remember him mentioning that his hometown was located somewhere along the lines of Greece. I think is accent was an indication he is Greek.
