We all know "I Love Lucy" has a bunch of classic lines, but what's your favorite? I have a few like:

Ricky: "I'm pooped."
Lucy: "Well that is quite distressing news." "For what do you attribute your plethora of fattique?" "Is it the enervating activities of your nocturnal occupation?" That's always great! and ummmmm in the one episode where she wanted new furniture and to earn money to pay back the furniture she had to make her own dress and do her own hair.
Lucy: "Oh my god my permanent, its only supposed to be in for 20 min!"
Ethel: "How long has it been?"

I think this took place in the episode where the gals bet the guys as to who could "last" longer without using any modern inventions and "conveniences" invented after 1900. So when they're trying to decide how much to bet:

Fred: How about 10 dollars?
Ethel: What's the matter with 20 dollars?
Ricky: What's the matter with 30 dollars?
Lucy: What's the matter with 50 dollars?
Fred: (annoyed) What was the matter with 10 dollars?


I loved that sequence...still cracks me up every time. What a great show this was, indeed!!

Ethel (when trying to pull off a loving cup that is stuck on Lucy's head): "Oh, this could only happen to you!"

This line isn't funny on its own, but in context, and the way Vivian Vance delivered it, is priceless.

Well, I was gonna post the "Whats the matter with $10", and I see I'm not the only one. I also like when Lucy makes fun of Ricky.
(Palm Springs) RICKY: May I say that you're not the only one that has their tith on edge.
LUCY: Oh? Go on....What is it about me that sets your tith on edge?
(Lucy raises chickens) ETHEL (everyone staring at her): Whatsa matter, haven't you ever seen me eat before?
FRED: I've never seen you do anything else.

god, I know there's so many more, I just can't think of them.

Speaking of that chicken feed line, does anyone know if that was scripted? If you watch the scene, it kind of seems like Lucy ad-libbed it or something and didn't realize right off the bat what she had said because she really gets a kick out of it after she says that, it sounded like she was really laughing. Hmmm...I don't think I'm making sense, you'll just have to watch the scene, it's funny.

I just saw the "Equal Rights" episode recently, so this one popped into my head right away. (I could think of a million more if I had the time).

Fred (to Ethel and Lucy): "What do you want? You got the vote. You wear pants. You drive busses. You can go anywhere you want except the steam room at the YMCA."

I like that line because it shows just how old-fashioned poor Fred was. Lucy was the best, but Fred always had some of the funniest lines in the show.

Mrs. McGillicuddy: "I wasn't going because I thought she wasn't going because I was going. But since she is going, I might as well go."

Fred: What did she say.

Ethel: I don't know but I THINK she's going.
