Werm the Leviathan storyline started today. Oberon and Haza were, um, interesting lol. The alter thing is strange. *Shrug* I think I'm gonna like this storyline. I liked the second episode, since it was so mysterious with that strange man going everywhere. It was great to see Carolyn again! And I liked how we at least got to hear Magda and Charity one last time.

I remember this storyline. David is yet again possessed isn't he? I remember he takes the book and he goes to that alter cave thing and talks to people who aren't there. This storyline is interesting and good, how can fans not like it? I thought the Adam storyline would be the lowest rated storyline not this one :(

Can't wait until the next episodes. Sean I think you will love this storyline, it gets better. :)

He isn't posessed during this storyline, but I think he is either under the control of the Leviathans or the people against them. Or something. *shrugs* A lot of people think this storyline gets confusing at times. At one point, one of the main DS writers - Sam Hall - even admitted that he didn't get the Leviathan storyline.

This isn't the lowest rated storyline. Adam and this storyline had around the same ratings. Adam/Werewolf and Leviathan/1970PT were the second highest rated storylines next to 1897. The lowest rated storyline was the beginning before Barnabas (and the early Barnabas episodes), followed by 1840 and part of 1841PT.

I'm looking forward to seeing tomorrow [well now it's todays lol]'s episodes, since they have Philip and Megan Todd in them.

What does everyone think of this storyline? I love it, it is getting interesting and mysterious.

I like it so far...it seems different from the other present day storylines. There isn't really a good guy/girl yet - I mean theres the victim [Paul Stoddard and the Todds], the bad guys [the Leviathans], and the bystanders [Carolyn, Lizzie, etc.]. *shrug* Nothing wrong with that. The storyline is more Sci-Fi than the others. The other storylines all had gothic romance involved in it, but so far this one really doesn't other than the love Paul has for his daughter. I like the new actor they brought in, Christopher Bernau. He's a great actor.

The episodes are soo different from the 1967 ones I've been watching recently on the DVDs. The show changed a lot during those two years.

I love the carnavel dream. The first time I saw it was on a Nightmares & Dreams thing on the Dark Shadows Special Edition DVD. It's so weird lol.

Lizzie is sorta weird right now imo. I mean she seems colder than usual. In fact everyone is colder except for Carolynnie. *shrug* She's not acting that much like good ole' I've-locked-myself-up-for-18-years-because-I-thought-I-killed-my-husband Lizzie.

I lke Joan Bennett the best during 1840. I'm looking forward to 1840 and the haunting of Collinwood by Gerard and Daphne, especially since Kate Jackson is in both storylines.

I'm glad Quentin is back. I think David Selby is a really good actor.

I thought she was really fantastic in the end of the last storyline as Judith, she was so evil. Trapping Trask in the room was brilliant. I love Joan Bennett, she is becoming one of my favorite actresses.

I loved the end of 1897, even though I missed the very last episode of it. Joan is great, though she does forget her lines more than the others. The only time I didn't like her on the show was during that boring ministoryline where Liz was scared she was going to be buried alive.

Alexander is okay for a kid actor. He has like a New York accent or something, lol. He's sorta creepy, which works for the role. He's only on for like two or three more episodes.

That girl that played Carolyn (Lisa Ross or something like that) didn't look like Nancy Barrett at all to me.

I like Denise Nickerson. I think she acts good. *Shrug* imo.

I noticed that they brought back Laura in the last storyline and now Paul. Anymore parents going to be popping up lol I like the Paul story, I just like the whole storyline, it interests me. I thought David's acting was great today, the best yet. So he really has no clue he is Quentin, or is he faking it?

I like Dennis Patrick; it's so sad that he died last year. I liked him better as Jason McGuire though. Jason was so mean with the way he treated Elizabeth! And then two years later Dennis Patrick shows up playing his best friend. I think I read that in Dennis Patrick's last episode, they couldn't get him to appear so they used a still picture of him for a brief scene [he didn't talk in it].

I like Michael more than Alexander. Alexander was wermish, lol. Michael is a lot better than him, IMO.

Poor Mr. Stoddard. Lizzie is being so mean to him. Loved the line at the end of her scene in today's second episode. *giggles* werm

Tuesday's second episode was interesting. It was written in emergency circumstances because ratings were starting to drop a little and fans were complaining that they didn't like Barnabas THAT evil. That's why it doesn't really affect the rest of the episodes.

Well Michael is a goner. I am sort of glad because he was too creepy. I was sad that Paul died before Carolyn could get a chance to see him again.

Does any one else get sort of bored with the Quentin/Amanda storyline?

Sean Snow
05-11-2003, 10:31 AM
Werm Did anyone notice Michael's teeth? On another DS board someone mentioned that they looked a little whack and everytime since then I've been looking at his mouth. *shrug*

I haven't seen Friday's episodes yet [watched the first 10 minutes of the first one]. I'm glad Paul is coming to a close. The Paul plot could've been so much better, imo. It was getting a little repetative. "They're coming to get me!" - "Now, Paul, blah blah blah" - "But they are! *Runs away*. At least they usually showed Carolyn during his scenes. That made those scenes grand in my book. :p

Quentin/Grant and Amanda/Olivia's plot is boring, but the last three Amanda episodes are pretty interesting. Death's Hotel looks nothing like I'd expect it to look like, lol.

Yay! It seems like MPI will be releasing 1897 on DVD starting in 2004, and Leviathans will probably follow in 2005. They are going to continue on a bi-monthly schedule through the end of this year, and they're gonna be at around #570 when the year ends. Soooo Adam will probably be over with by around April 2004. *thank god*

I love the scenes with Angelique. She rawks da house (werm) as Angelique Rumson. Go Angie. Go Angie. Go Angie. Werm. I think Lara Parker is becoming one of my favorite actresses. I got DVD 5 a few weeks ago and now I'm starting to finally watch it and it has the kewl Angelique episodes from 1795. She looks so much younger than for some reason. I'm not saying she looks old, but she looks like her face matured. Or something. Werm.

It took me along time to realize that was Aristede playing Bruno. He doesn't look like Barnabas anymore.

Sean, there was an episode that aired a while ago, where Barnabas told Julia everything. There was no voice over for it, did Sci-Fi cut it out or did they just not do one? just wondering

Yeah, Bruno doesn't look that much like Aristede. *le sigh* Soon Bruno will have scary '70s hair..of course that's better than scary '80s hair, but that's another topic ^-^

The opening narration, which was done by the guy that played Oberon, was cut out of that episode by Sci Fi. The company that syndicates it, Worldvision, cut out parts for Sci Fi so the show would look more modern. But sometimes there is no reason at all for what they cut out. *shrug* I sorta liked how it went right to the action.

I kind of like the show with out the opening narration, but if you don't have that then you don't know what is going on. Why didn't they just do "previously on" scenes before the show started? Almost every soap does that.

They didn't really do that on soaps back then, or in the 70s and maybe the 80s. *shrug* I've mostly noticed the ABC soaps nowadays doing that. DS' way of doing the entire 'previously on' deal was by showing the last scene from the last episode. Ryan's Hope also never did the previously on, and that lasted until 1989.

I know you like this storyline, but and it seems like they keep rewriting what's going to happen next. Some of the things make no sense to me. Philip in jail?! They have like no evidence other than the confession - how did he get all that goop over his victims?! - slaps writers - Silly shemales! And oh my god..that cut-and-paste picture they used of Dennis Patrick. I know he left the show very abruptly to do a movie, but really..they might as well have not shown it at all. Jeb is such a crackpot. - slaps Jeb - Well maybe it's not as much the writer's fault as it is Dan Curtis'...he often changed the writers ideas even though often times the writers ideas made much more sense. This storyline isn't as bad as Adam, but really...there were so many missed oppritunities.

They could've built up more drama. I mean, Carolyn's father has come back to Collinsport after being away for 20 years...and they waste most of their time on having everyone think Paul is insane. There could've been some great dramatic moments between Roger, Liz, Carolyn, and Paul, but no - let's have him go to the police and have Liz come at him with a spoon full of medication.

I would've liked to see more of Angelique trying to live as a mortal, even though I don't like the actor who plays Sky that much. After just a few episodes, he turns out to be a Leviathan. If the Leviathans are so grand and powerful, why didn't we ever hear of them before since they have oh so many members? And why the Hell are they starting from Collinsport, Maine?! -throws things-

Willie comes back tomorrow. Yayness. Mmhmm. Preach it Willie. *hand clap for Willie* John Karlen left the show to pursue a movie career, but Dan Curtis brought him back when he promised Karlen that he'd be in both DS movies.

I'm happy that Humbert Allen Astredo is back. I loved him as Nicholas in the Adam storyline. He was one of the few good parts of that storyline. I hated how they started to water him down with Maggie Evans. - slaps Maggie Evans -

All that slapping has made my hand hurt..*sniffle*

I haven't seen today's episodes, but I hear the first one is pretty good. I mean I know the show gets better because I've seen some episodes from after Leviathan, but all the stuff on it lately makes me want to go find Sam Hall and Dan Curtis and slap them silly. -slap slap slap- And omg next week there is an episode where the ghost of Peter appears and tells about something very evil that happened to my poor Vicki. -sniffle- *adds that to list of why Roger Davis and his characters are evil*

Oh God. The shadow. *laughs insaynesly* THE SHADOW!!!! *screams and laughs* Werm. That was...one of the worst special effects ever, along with the outline of the ghost of Peter from ten or so episodes back. It makes the bat that got Barnabas look like something out of The Matrix.

Why doesn't anyone have a nice wedding? Well, at least Carolyn's was better than Vicki's. Vicki and Jeff were married by someone from city hall and Carolyn got a real minister. And Carolyn at least wore white. I think Vicki was wearing one of those really ugly sleeveless lime green dresses.

I can't wait until this storyline is over. I don't really like Bruno or Jeb or Sky. But I'm really looking forward to more Lara Parker as Angelique Rumson appearances, even though there aren't that many more. And today was Roger Davis' last episode!!! YAY!!! YAY!!! YAY!!!

I love how they're giving little tastes of 1970PT during the next few Leviathan episodes. I, personally, cannot wat for the 1970PT storyline to begin.

Yes, the 1970PT storyline comes after the Levitathan storyline. The storyline was made while House of Dark Shadows was being filmed, so some of the main actors/actresses don't appear for long periods of time. It lasts until episode #1060.

Yay. The more Angie, the better. We get to see a lot of Angelique in 1970PT since she wasn't in the House of Dark Shadows movie, so I'm looking forward to that. The Angelique plot is based on the book Rebecca, and that's a great book, so this gives me something to look forward to. After Leviathans, the show looks pretty good - 1970PT, the haunting of Collinwood by Daphne Harridge [Kate Jackson] and Gerard Stiles [James Storm], 1840, and 1841PT.

The only bad thing about 1970PT is that I understand that everyone wears the ugliest clothes. -_-

Well, that's what I hear. And there are more characters to come: Carolyn Loomis, Bruno Hess, etc. Bruno Hess is supposed to be the worst dressed, and with the hair that can only cause great horror. ^-^

Speaking of Bruno, does he wear that UGLY coat all the time? In almost all his scenes he's wearing that coat. I mean, I know it's cold in Maine but it can't be so cold that you have to wear a coat everywhere you go. At least it doesn't seem that way to me. -_-

Yayness. I can't wait to see Carolynnie Loomis. I don't really like the storylines set in the present after Victoria returned from the past, other than the ghost of Quentin & Beth storyline in 1968/9 and the ghost of Daphne & Gerard storyline in 1970. 1795/1897/etc were just so much better. Too bad they didn't stay in 1897. It would've been interesting to just continue the show from there.

Yep, he isn't in the 1970PT storyline after episode #982 [the second full episode in 1970PT] until episode #1011.

I'm still behind in viewing. Today I watched Thursday's episodes. I liked the scene where Nicholas came back from the dead - that man never stops plotting, even after he dies!

At the end of Thursday's episodes when Sky begins to choke Carolyn, it sounds like she's laughing at the very end. *shrugs* Nancy Barrett has the highest pitched screams, lol.

The characters of Chris Jennings, Sky Rumson, Jeb Hawkes, Sabrina Stuart, Nicholas Blair, and Roger Collins are not seen on the show from this point forward. At the beginning of the next present day storyline, Sabrina and Chris had moved [since Don Briscoe had left]. Roger is on a business trip during the entire summer 1970 storyline, but Louis Edmonds remains with the show until it's very last episode.

I watched Friday's episodes today *giggle*. Anyways, I liked the final episode. Everything came to a close, with Jeb plunging off Widow's Hill. The last Leviathan cult member (that we see at least) is killed. Barnabas makes his way into the new plot. ^-^ I like how they're doing dream sequences now, with the lights and all. Very groovy. -_-

On to 1970PT!
