Guys,

I was at E-bay doing a LITB search and I came across this link:

If it doesn't work for you, it's a tape of a Beaver episode where Beaver "spends his money on a model airplane and learns a lesson about saving money." The seller claims it is from the 50's series but I know of no such episode! Was there some other format for LITB from the 50's that we don't know about?

that is strange i dont think i remember that episode either i'll have to do some reserch.

I don't remember that one either and I have been watching LITB for over 20 years now and have seen every episode dozens of times. The only ep that I can think of that comes close is when Beaver spends the birthday money Uncle Billy sent him on a model car but Rusty Stevens wasn't in that ep.

yea thats what i thought but it couldn't be that episode.

This was a short 15-20 minute "Savings Bond" episode, it's not part of the syndication package. A lot of shows did these short Savings Bond episodes. They were educational type films produced by the U.S. government.
