View Full Version : Lisa Marie Presley
curtis 04-08-2003, 07:22 PM Hey what's everyone think of Lisa Marie? I myself like her music and wish her well with her new CD. Also did anyone tape her on Good Morning America or TRL today? If so please e-mail me.
Thanks,
ccupek@aol.com
Mr. Stefani 04-08-2003, 07:41 PM i saw her on trl today. i like her attitude. she was being a bitch whenever they would ask questions about her father. every other question had to do with him. they are all morons. i heard her on howard stern too "I know im a bitch"
She was on TRL?
Like MTV is going to play her video...
;)
curtis 04-08-2003, 08:22 PM I saw her Primetime interview a few nights ago and I thought that she was being really open. I also loved the part where Lisa Marie comments about all of Elvis's so-called friends who betrayed him after he died, She said that she hoped that they would burn in hell. Pretty cool. I also like her new single that's out plus she's very hot to look at.
Curtis.
*Marilyn Monroe* 04-08-2003, 08:48 PM I like her, but Im still undecided on whether or not I like her new single.
TO anyone who saw that Primetime interview: I really like her "wedding" ring. lol. The whole "F***" on one ring and "You" on the other was actually a good idea.
Tuesday Weld 04-08-2003, 08:52 PM Personally,I don't like her at all,nothing about her - I hate her attitude,don't care for her singing or lyrics.I think she's a mess.JMO.
MandieR1980 04-08-2003, 09:08 PM I think if her dad hadn't died and still had been in her life she would be completely different you can tell she guards herself. I love her song "Lights Out" and I plan on getting the CD
curtis 04-08-2003, 09:37 PM I too love her new song, she really rocks. I just ordered my copy of Lights Out and can't wait to get my copy. Also she's going to be on David Letterman tonight. You know I'll have the ol VCR on for that. She's so hot.
Curtis.
Penny Lane 04-09-2003, 07:17 PM She needs to smile more. What a gloomy person .
Pitooey 04-09-2003, 07:36 PM I too find her gloomy. She seems very mad at times.

If my dead Father was making me 40 million dollars a year, You'd need a team of plastic surgeons to wipe the smile from my face.

if my father died I'd rather have him back than the money and I'm sure that's how she feels.

Ugh, what a disgusting and shallow thing to say. Even though you are kidding.
curtis 04-10-2003, 10:49 AM Hi everyone,
I watched David Letterman last night and saw Lisa Marie's performance of her new song Lights Out. I thought she really rocked. And for all the above posts about her not smiling, well if you had the chance to see her being interviewed on Letterman last night you would of seen that Lisa does smile. And what a pretty smile. She's really a cool chick and I wish her well with her new CD.
Curtis.

I didn't see her get interviewed all I saw was her sing and he went up on stage and said she was great and then after commercial he was talking to Paul about how great she was and then it was over.
curtis 04-10-2003, 12:15 PM I think Letterman really enjoyed having Lisa on his show, she seems very down to earth and honest and isn't afraid to speak her mind. And your right, Letterman did keep going on about how great Lisa Marie was. And I for one have to agree with him.
Curtis.

Yeah, that was a bit offsides.
Sorry.

Mr. Stefani 04-11-2003, 10:22 PM I like her song Son Of A Bitch. i like her voice. its mellow and depressing.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 04-11-2003, 10:46 PM O I love Lisa Marie!!:D
MandieR1980 04-12-2003, 02:00 AM I'm going to the mall today and I'm gonna get the CD along with some others
curtis 04-12-2003, 09:26 PM I just got my copy from Vh1.com, it's the limited edition enhanced cd with her first video Lights Out on it. Lisa is really cool, her smooth singing and her style.
Curtis.

Oh, that's cheap, I might go buy it now.
BTW, thanks for understanding TJL. :)
SBTB Geek 04-18-2003, 12:27 AM I just bought her CD, and wow.... it's actually very good.
Several of you were discussing her bitchy attitude, and her "gloomy" ways--- I sort of find that very sexy. I like the way she stares at people... grr. (Like in Rolling Stone cover.)
BTW, TJL... they do air her video on MTV.
I feel sorry for her - because she was so young (9 years old), when her dad passed away. You can tell that this had a major effect on her - through interviews, and her songs, notably "Nobody Noticed it." Also, personally, I think she's quite talented, but many music critics have been very unfair to her, saying, "she's no Elvis." That's right, she's not. She's Lisa Marie, and I think that she should be judged by her own merits, not by her father's.
Nobody Noticed it, by Lisa Marie Presley
I heard broken footsteps
Was that you limping
Well I wish I that could have spent just a little bit more time with you...yeah
Tears on my ceiling
Weren't you watching
Well I guess that none of us will ever know what comes after this
You're still lovely
You were lovely then
All that you had to endure
I guess nobody noticed it
I know your resemblence
Um it's out there walkin'
And I wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten
When they try to make you look broken
Not while I'm livin'
But I wanted you to know that I heard what he said when it was rainin'
You're still lovely
You were lovely then
All that you had to endure
I guess nobody noticed it
You made me
I love you
And do you know nothing has changed
Now everyone they notice it
Everyone notices
You're still lovely
You were lovely then
All that you had to endure
I guess nobody noticed it
You made me
I love you
And do you know that nothing has changed
Now everyone they notice it
Everyone notices
curtis 04-18-2003, 03:01 PM Hey guys guess what, I bought a copy of Lisa Marie's new CD from VH1.com and on their website they adverstised that a limited amount of her CD's would be personally autographed by Lisa Marie Presley. Well I'm one of the lucky few that got an autographed copy. I couldn't believe my eyes, I'm sooooo happy.
Curt.

That's awesome! Congrats! :)
Mr. Stefani 04-25-2003, 12:43 AM "Lisa Marie's debut album, To Whom It May Concern, has entered the Billboard album charts at #5, selling over 140,000 copies in its first week and making it one of the year's highest debuts and the only such major debut from a female solo new artist."
shes on The Late Show With David Letterman tomorrow(friday) at 11:35PM ET, for anyone who cares.

cool. did she make it out to you, or is it just autographed? lucky you.
isiahthomas 04-26-2003, 09:19 AM I like Lisa too, i think she's cute. I saw her last night on David Letterman but i didn't see her sing on there. She told David he was very handsome in person & he took his glasses off LOL. He kissed her hand before she left to perform. Is she seeing anybody? Nicolas Cage was a fool for leaving her & she should've never gotten with that weirdo Michael Jackson. How many kids does she have again? I think 3 right? I'm not really a fan of rock & roll so i won't be buying her cd. If i was in showbiz, i'd date her.
isiahthomas 04-26-2003, 09:20 AM Curtis where u live at in Ohio?

she dumped nicolas and she has 2 kids.
curtis 04-26-2003, 06:37 PM The autographed CD cover of Lisa isn't personalized to me, it's only her signature. She probally signed these covers when she appeared on TRL, since VH1 is a part of MTV. Also someone wanted to know where in Ohio I'm from... Well I'm from Lorain, right by Lake Erie.
Curt
isiahthomas 04-27-2003, 09:06 AM Lorain isn't that far from Cleveland. Do u think Lorain is boring Curtis? I know you've been to Cleveland a lot. U like Cleveland better than Lorain?
curtis 04-28-2003, 02:56 PM I really don't care for Lorain at all, I guess I stay here because I work there and also because it's cheap living. But I do know that I will leave this nowhere town within 5 or 6 years. Lorain is too rundown, it has no money and the majority of people here are either on Social Security because they claim to be crazy or they're on welfare. I don't know if Lorain will ever bounce back, we had a chance about 10 or so years ago when they wanted to build a casino here but too many people opposed the idea. I like to visit Cleveland a lot, and there's many cool places to go but its a shame downtown has lost their major department stores like Kauffmans & Dillards in the last few years.
Curt.
isiahthomas 04-28-2003, 03:34 PM I love Cleveland so much. I don't wanna live anywhere else. It's my home & it's where i was born & raised most of my life. It's off the hook here in the summertime. It's so much stuff to get into in the summer. There's so many cookouts to go to & i love to go to the basketball court & play ball. The ladies here are the bomb in the summer wearing the tight outfits & opentoe shoes. I love downtown Cleveland. U been to the flats downtown? The flats have a lot of clubs & bars. If only we could get our sports teams to finally win a championship. I hope the Cavs draft Lebron James so he can get the seats filled at Gund Arena LOL.
isiahthomas 04-28-2003, 03:36 PM I saw the cover of the Enquirer today & it had Lisa Marie on the cover. It said that she has been living a gay life & hasn't told anyone. I know they're lying. She doesn't look like the gay type.

They are blowing out of proportion a thing she said on Howard Stern. She admitted to once having a lesbian encounter.
No biggie.

that was the greatest interview. she was so honest
Janice 05-02-2003, 01:33 AM I saw Lisa Marie on Leno tonight. For an admitted rebel wildchild, she appeared painfully shy at times. I didn't see her Letterman interview, but from what I've read here, she was more relaxed. I think Letterman is a better interviewer than Leno any day of the week although I enjoy Leno's monologue more.
Jay showed her the Enquirer with the gay cover story. She rolled her eyes and said it started from one remark on the Stern show. Maybe she experimented. It's no big deal.
I find her likable. She's brutally honest and doesn't seem all affected by her fame and fortune. There is a sadness about her when her father's name is mentioned, which Leno did about a thousand times. I noticed the same sadness in her interview last month on Primetime whenever Elvis was mentioned.
She sang on Leno. That one, Lights Out in Memphis. I'm not sure if I have the title correct, but that woman has talent and a strong stage presence.
I don't know why she waited so long to start her music career. I think she has what it takes--talent, mystique, presence, and attitude.

Yeah, i saw Leno too last night. I really liked the interview. It was better than letterman's, he brought up Elvis too much. he barley talked about the album. I like how honest she is, and how she doesn't put up a front. I feel bad for her when Elvis is always brought up...she seems uncomfortable talking about it. She pretty much says the same things every interview, because she said she wants to keep some stuff between them. Stupid interviewers. But i liked the letterman performance a lot better. the band sounded better.
BTW: the songs called Lights Out

Thanks. By any chance, is that song about her father? It's hard to make out the lyrics.
Brandon 05-04-2003, 06:09 PM she sings 'that's where her family is buried and gone' if i'm not mistaken...

no. the songs a memory of graceland after her father died..the song mentions her mom, and other stuff too.
Mr. Stefani 05-04-2003, 06:24 PM here:
You were a million miles behind.
And I was crying every time I'd leave you.
Then I didn't want to see you.
I still keep my watch two hours behind.
(Chorus)
Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis.
That's where my family's buried and gone.
Last time I was there I noticed a space left.
Next to them there in Memphis.
In the damn back lawn.
I didn't know that I was in the crowd.
And the fresh cut grass stopped growing.
Everything on my shelf has fallen.
I still keep my watch two hours behind.
(Chorus)
Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis.
That's where my family's buried and gone.
Last time I was there I noticed a space left.
Next to them there in Memphis.
In the damn back lawn.
Was that bridge I was crossing.
Somewhere I stopped walking.
I guess I fell off on my own.
I heard all the roads they lead to Memphis.
Except for the one I'm stumbling down.
And I'll be damned if I ever get this, little son of a bitch from Memphis. Well it's all there I guess. And I haven't forgot.
(Chorus)

from what shes said in interviews.
"That's where my family's buried and gone.
Last time I was there I noticed a space left"
It means that Elvis, Vernon, Gladys, Minnie May and some of Elvis' family is buried in the backyard of Graceland. When Lisa goes there, she visits the gravesite and there is a place in between for her plot if she wishes to be buried there.
Janice 05-04-2003, 06:56 PM Thanks Nirvana. :)
Bobaratie 05-13-2003, 06:58 AM I don't really like her song "Lights Out" it's nothing like the music that her father did! IBut I've hated her ever since she dropped Michael Jackson! That's right. Is she supposed to sing, Blue Suede Shoes and follow it up with Jail House Rock?
As for Michael, I think she's claiming temporary insanity on that one.
People are responding well to Lisa Marie. I think it's her talent and a part of it is that she's Elvis' daughter--it adds to her mystique. Most people loved Elvis, and she stirs up our memories of him.
I found this article on the web.
Lisa Marie Presley Performs in London
By The Associated Press
LONDON (AP) - Lisa Marie Presley has achieved one musical landmark her father never managed - playing a concert in Britain.
The 35-year-old daughter of Elvis Presley performed songs from her debut album, "To Whom It May Concern," in front of 200 people at a London nightclub Monday.
Elvis visited Britain only once, making a two-hour stopover at Scotland's Prestwick Airport as he returned from military service in Germany in 1960.
"I thought she was amazing," said one member of the London audience, British comedian Frank Skinner. "A bit like Avril Lavigne."
Brandon 05-13-2003, 09:10 PM Lisa's cool. Her song has country/rock/pop in it. that's hard to do.
IownTheDivision69 05-17-2003, 09:03 PM shes gonna be at summer jam.
