LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - With "Touched by an Angel" ending in a few weeks, Valerie Bertinelli will return to mortal concerns in the CBS comedy pilot "Crazy Love."

Oscar winner Cloris Leachman has also joined the cast of the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Elsewhere, Susan Diol and Paul Dooley are in the lineup for "Touch 'Em All McCall," an NBC comedy pilot starring Tom Selleck.

In "Crazy Love," Bertinelli will play the wife of neurotic baby boomer Peter MacNicol. The childless couple decides to adopt a Chinese baby. Leachman, who won an Oscar for her role in "The Last Picture Show" in 1972 and an Emmy last year for a guest spot on "Malcolm in the Middle," will play MacNicol's mother.

NBC's "Touch 'Em All McCall" is about a retired baseball player (Selleck) who returns to his hometown. Diol ("General Hospital") plays an old flame, while Dooley ("Sixteen Candles," "Once and Again") will play her father.

Additionally, FOX has added to the cast of its comedy pilot "Jack's House," about a guy whose dream of buying a house are complicated by his girlfriend and former roommates. Kathleen Rose Perkins will play the girlfriend, while Desmond Askew ("Roswell"), Patrick Fabian ("The Education of Max Bickford") and Heath Hyche will fill the roommate roles. The title role hasn't been cast yet.

Unfortunately, Val's post- One Day At A Time track record would seem to indicate this show will probably be canceled after a few episodes. The girl has no luck with sitcoms in the last 20 years!

She joined on as a regular on Touched By An Angel and that show was cancelled. I'm sure the fact that it was a tired show also had something to do with it...

I am completely surprised.

This pilot had "winner" all over it.
