LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - D.L. Hughley, late of "The Hughleys," has signed on to an NBC comedy pilot starring Howie Mandel.
The pilot will mirror Mandel's life as a father and his work on "The Tonight Show," where he does hidden-camera comedy pieces. Hughley will play his cameraman in the pilot.
"Having D.L. is a knockout for this show," Jessica Borsiczky a producer of Pariah TV tells The Hollywood Reporter. "The combination [of Hughley] with Howie will take the comedy to a fantastic place."
"The Hughleys" ran for four seasons, two on ABC and two on UPN. It ended last season. Hughley then signed a development deal with NBC.
In other casting news, Charles Esten has joined CBS' comedy "All Grown Up," about how the impending parenthood of a couple affects their group of long-time friends. Esten ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?," "On the Spot") will play one of the couple's friends
