I thought tonight's episode was good. I've never heard Yeardley (sp) Smith speak off of The Simpsons and I couldn't believe how much she sounded like Lisa.

I loved the crack at Florida not being able to count ballots

So, what WAS that thing at the end about?

I think that pshyic meant that their will be romance int he future between Chris and Becker, and she sees that they will obivously encounter problems, and for Chris to be VERY VERY careful, because well you know how becker is, thats what I thought, but I could be wrong, who knows.
I thought tonight's epsoide just gave us clues to either the end of this sason or clues to next season, what do yall think?

Jen I agree with you I think it is a bit of forshadowing going on there and thats the exact same thought I had (about what you got out of what the Pyschic told both Chris and Becker)
Kristen I actually saw Yeardley smith before she use to be on Dharma and Greg shes actually very funny and has alot of talent

I thought the episode was just ok.

Can someone honestly say now that Chris is a distinctively different character than Reggie?

I thought this show was moving in a new direction, but Chris is just standing in Reggie's place, working at the diner, acting amost exactly like Reggie.

When Chris is speaking to anyone at the diner, you could just put Reggie in her place saying those lines and it would work 100%.

It's time for the producers to admit they just wanted Nancy Travis (who is she sleeping with??) and they had no new plan.
They could have explored a romance with Reggie just as easily and more viably since she had been there for years.

It really looks silly sometimes.

Diemond, I was thinking the same thing. Chris is basically Reggie. I still prefer Terry over Nancy.

I totally agree with you two (and I"m not just saying that because I look like Terry) but alas theres nothing we can do about it so I try not to think about it anymore

I don't mind Chris as much anymore, but Becker is no different with Nancy Travis, certainly not better.

I still like it and I am not complaining, but who is kidding who here?

I still see a few major differences between the two characters. I respect everyone's opinion though.

ok first off I respect your opinion and all, but hold up.........your paying attention to the lines of the character Chris, am I right? Ok and your saying that without a doubt Terry Farrell could be standing saying the exact same lines as Nancy and it would work 110 %, in my opinon your wrong because if you pay attention to Nancy's art of speaking and body language I feel it gives the show a more edgier feel, and somewhat more positive effect. Now with Terry, don't get me wrong shes a great actress, but I'm sorry I have to say this when you put her in Nancy's place it doesn't fit the picture, and no offense, but she somewhat looks depressing to look at, and when she was their as Reggie, that character was so insecure whereas with Chris, she is somewhat in a tiny way a bit insecure, but she has more high self esteem, she has a heart, shes cool, I mean shes the type of a person that you would want to be friends with and that is an all around cool person. Reggie, not cool, somewhat boring to be around. The writers did go into a new direction, I can see where your coming from, but you should notice ever since the cast change and storyline not only has Becker changed in a good way because of Chris, but I don't know if any of yall have noticed, but Nancy and Ted click, and their a GREAT match. I mean terry Farrell would be like a one time girlfriend for Becker vice versa with Ted. terry and Ted don't click, and plus she looks to young to play his girlfriend, Nancy looks the right type of age.And with Chris she knows the good stuff deep down, and shes sees clearly through his jokes and his selfishness. In a show like Becker you have to have a click, or you have nothing. Thats why the writers and producers made the change. The change has been that Becker learns to love more than hate, and somewhat be honest, and to follow his heart. Chris is not sleeping with anybody and Nancy Travis is happily married to Rob Fried a movie producer, and she has two sons. Sometimes if you pay attention to the small details in a show you really learn alot. Ok, i'll stop talking now....

You make a lot of sense.

I think I was reacting more to this episode where I think the dialogue would have fit Reggie (or could have been written for her character). I felt like that script could have been written before Chris even came on the scene.

I think another thing I am reacting to is the fact that Chris is running the diner instead of going in a different direction. When you just put her behind the counter like that it seems a little odd instead of establishing a more defining ground with Chris (especially since we were introduced to Chris while Reggie was still there).

Thanks. I can see where your coming from, and I agree with you I pictured Chris working a more professional job, but I'm guessing the writers and producers didn't want to do away with the diner because thats the main set, thats where all the acton happens, and everyone(fans) is used to it....

see My thing is WHY did they get rid of Terry?? they could have kept her AND had Chris that way they'd have the Diner and its owner and Chris could have a more professional Job (not to mention us Terry Fans would still be happy) Eh well water under the bridge I guess

I read that it was because the creator didn't want a romantic triangle. I also think that it would be sort of weird to have two lead actresses.

I agree, no offense to any Terry fans, but I see her on a drama show like Without a Trace or The Practice I think she would be really good at drama.

she was actaully Really good in "Crossing the Line" but I liked her as Reggie I think it was mainly because Reggie reminds me ALOT of me her personality type and all
and as far as the romantic triangle I didnt mean for them to make one I mean John could still wind up with Chris as long as reggie was still around thats JMO though so no worries :)
