I also read Lord of the Flies (I hate that book!), 1984, Of Mice and Men, The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn, Ethan Frome, Frankenstein. That's all I can think of right now. This is ranging from all 4 yrs of high school though.

I forgot to mention. The books I listed were ones I read the past few years, not just last year or this year.

We don't really have to read as much this year as we did last year.

We read some short stories...forgot what they were though lol...hey, they were short and forgetful. We've read Tears of a Tiger and I think we're gonna start reading The Diary of Anne Frank soon.

In High School I remember reading To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet and the Chocolate War. I know there were others but I can't remember which ones. I never had to read those other classics you guys keep mentioning. I was lucky and had this real easy going teacher for 2 yrs in a row. We hardly did anything in his class.
In college I took a Childrens Literature class and read Charlottes Web and Alices Adventures in Wonderland. Another easy class.

I loved Animal Farm! Did you not get the Stalinist Soviet Russia connection there?

I also read "1984" also by George Orwell. It has become one of my all-time favorite books. Except when I first read it, it was hard for me to read fiction as an assignment (this was 1981)...I almost didn't graduate because of this. But now I really get into reading it, and I'm even writing a novel as well as my screenplay.:read: :typing:

Recently, we've read Bless the Beasts & Children, The Good Earth, and now we're reading Fahrenheit 451 in my novel class.
I have to read in my English class too, so I've read Gump & Company, Impossible Possibilities, and I can't remember the name of what I'm reading now...I also remember throughout the years reading huck Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo & Julliet, The Great GAtsby (UGH!), The Scarlet Letter (AHHHH!) and there's been lots more that I can't remember or don't want to.

I love that book.

I also read "Angela's Ashes" and "When She Was Good" for book reports. "Angela's Ashes" is the best book I have ever read.

I forgot about that one. We read that in 9th grade and also watched the movie.

Ive read (all i can remember in my education so far, excluding 3-7 years old, when all I read was the Huggy Bear series):
Under the Hawthorn Tree
The Silver Sword
Of Mice and Men
Romeo and Juliet
The Pearl (I want to see the film adaptation)
Goodnight Mister Tom
A Christmas Carol (just a short script)

That's all I remember there's probably more

Oh, and currently, of my own free will- I'm reading '1984' but it's been missing the past few days, it's great so far, and still can't find the film version anywhere- before I read it I thought the world would be all glass, metal towers and modern- then I read, and it's better than what I thought. I don't want to read Animal Farm, cos I flicked through a page or so, and didn't find it interesting (even though in a few years I HAVE TO, unless it changes)

This is what I've read since I entered HS.

Animal Farm
*Romeo and Juliet
A Separate Peace (hands-down, the worst book ever)
*To Kill A Mockingbird
Julius Caesar
Of Mice and Men
The Crucible
The Scarlet Letter (second-worst book ever)
*The Adventures of Huck Finn
The Red Badge of Courage
Billy Budd
Many, many short stories

(Ones w/asterisks are the ones I liked)
