Although I can't really call myself a big Madonna fan, I do enjoy some of her music ("Material Girl" and "Like a Virgin" being my favorites). I've heard some of her newer stuff, and I think it sounds nothing like her. I realize she had to change styles to keep up with today's music, but I much prefer her music from the 80s. So what do you think? Do you prefer her when she was the Material Girl or now?

Madonna THEN, definitely. The 1984- 1988 period in particular.

Then. I liked just about every one of her songs during the 80s, and I only like a few Madonna songs from the 90s
Then. Her 80s and early to mid 90s music is her best music. Although, I like her new song Love Makes The World Go Round. It sounds like something she would sing back in the '80s. I think she would have been better if she hadn't changed her style to keep up with the popular music in the industry. Janet Jackson is another singer that I think was better back in the late 80s and early 90s. Black Cat and Miss You Much were good, as was Together Again, but now with her song Doesn't Really Matter, she doesn't sound as good.

Then. She sounds like a computer now, or at least she did on that "Die Another Day" song.
