View Full Version : Price for movie tickets
Warm & Fuzzy 04-06-2003, 01:15 AM How much do you usually pay for a movie ticket?
I'm just wondering 'cause I know a few people from other states who pay only $3.00!
I am SO jealous. Movie tickets are really pricy here! I paid $18 for one before!

Get it right...we USED to pay $3 before they went up in price...now we pay $4 after 6 and $2 before 6. Unless I go to the dollar theater in the next big town. It's $1 there except for Wednesday, then it's $0.50.
Gotta love small towns! :D

*PinkLady* 04-06-2003, 09:16 AM In my small town, we pay 3 bucks.

18 BUCKS?
For that much, the stars of the movie should stand in front of the screen and act the movie out in person!
Movie ticket prices here in NYC have reached ten bucks a ticket.
Very sad. Even in suburban NJ where I grew up,the tickets are hitting the eight dollar mark. But in fairness to NJ, most theaters there still have matinee prices during the day.
Central Perk 04-06-2003, 10:20 AM Movie Tickets usually cost $7. If it's a matinee it only costs $5.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 04-06-2003, 12:18 PM They use to have a theatre that was 7 for regular and 5 for matinees and another one that would show movies that were a little older (like around 3 or 4 months old) for 2 bucks. But they closed almost all of them down and theyre making those huge 2 story, 20 screen Multiplexes thats about 14 bucks and 10 bucks for a matinee. I don't think I'm gonna go to the theatre anymore except if I get like a Gift certificate or someone pays for me!
~LadyJess~ 04-06-2003, 12:24 PM Anywhere between $5-$7 depending on what time you go.
-*Leah*- 04-06-2003, 02:05 PM usually $5.00
-*Forever*- 04-06-2003, 03:26 PM $6 for a matinee
$8.50 @ night
Ravey 04-06-2003, 03:48 PM We pay $7.00 here for 1 adult ticket. But with drinks and candy and everything 1 person usually ends up costing like $15.00!

Same here....unless we go to the one that shows movies that came out more than 5 months ago, then it's 2.50.

That's about what I pay too. We also have a theater by me that shows movies for 2 or 3 dollars but they only show movies that have already been playing in the regular theaters for a couple months.

That's why I refuse to buy candy and stuff at movie theaters. When I was little we used to stuff our pockets with Skittles and stuff, now I just sit through the movie and don't eat or drink anything.

Quick, get out of NYC as soon as you can!!! ;)
I don't see much difference between small towns and big cities. In Chicago, it's $4.25, in the tiny little town here, it's $4.75. I guess I'm lucky. I got to live in a big city AND have cheap movie prices. :D
Mr. Stefani 04-07-2003, 06:28 PM $8.50 day, and $9.50 for night shows
Crimson and Clover 04-08-2003, 06:03 PM i havent been to the movie theater in a long time. the last thing i saw there was Shrek.
