I want to tape something late tonight/early tomorrow. I live on the East Coast and have to turn my clocks forward an hour. On my TV schedule it shows the time start as 3 a.m. for what I want to tape, but on TVGuide Online it says 2 a.m.
How do I know what time to set my VCR to tape?

Hm.....I always assumed that the clocks change at midnight, making it skip the hour and right when it gets to midnight, you move it up to 1AM.
This whole time changing is confusing. The only states that don't have to bother with it are Arizona and Indiana, minus the Gary-Munster area.

I'm still confused, I have no idea what time to set my alarm to get up and change my channel to tape. :(

Yeah I don't know what you should do. I know you are supposed to change the clocks at 2 am but I don't know who actually does that, I just do it when I go to bed.

Tough one! You could just tape it for an extra hour to be sure. If it's a two-hour movie then start it at your current time of 2am and tape until 5am. That 3 hours should cover it.
Anyway, according to my TV Guide:
Saturday's listings are in Standard Time. Sunday's listings reflect Daylight Savings Time.

The clocks changed a week ago here in the UK.
You are technically suposed to change your clocks at 1am (at least, that's how we do it in Britain). Therefor, if you want to tape a programme that would have started at 2am you would set your VCR for 3am. But if you were taping something at midnight then you would just set your VCR for midnight.
Sorry, I'm probably just confusing you even more.

You should work out the time it'll be then, and set your vcr to the time it would've been- if the time hadn't changed (most vcr's don't update immediately like computers do)- In the UK, you go forward in the sky guide to see what's on, and the top bar (the time) reads- 2:00am 2:30 am 2:00am, when it goes back (our clocks already went forward now, the whole daylight savings time thing was mainly to do with school kids having to walk the streets in the darkness, personally I think even though it's changed back again- it's screwed up time.

You can say that again. It's just a pain getting used to the new time. When you do get used to the time, you have to change it again.
