View Full Version : I do wonder what the lyrics would have been....
Wildchats 04-05-2003, 12:18 PM They would follow the tune to the theme and Vikki said she was going to sing them. (Her voice as mama really was funny, so they would be like an Edith-Bunker type opening credit song)
Here is my version of the opening theme "Bless my Broken Home"
Oh come one, come all, it's time to tune in,
Time to watch and see,
All the crazy, nutty, fruity anitics,
Of my own Family,
Here we come where almost here,
Just sit and wait and see,
Oh for all those crazy, nutty fruity antics of Mama's....
Yes of Mama's....
Mama's family.....
Family.....
Oh those crazy, nutty-fruity atics
of Mama's Fam- ly (drumrole)
(Fade)
I am guessing it would ahve went something like that with her stretching the word "Family" while there was that long instrumental stretch towards the very end two times as Mama comes out of the house to get the paper).

I wonder if there ever were lyrics made for that song. Anyone know?

I read somewhere (Vicki's bio, I think) that Vicki wrote the words to it. It was called "Bless My Happy Home." I read her bio back in the summer, so I don't remember why they didn't credit her with the theme song.
I would suggest to anyone to read Vicki's bio, I forgot what it's called, though. It's a really good book. I remember when I picked it up, I didn't want to put it back down. I even got my mom to read it (she's a Vicki & Mama fan too). Maybe I'll read it again sometime. It had some really interesting stuff.
Mama'sBoy 04-09-2003, 12:28 PM her bio is called " Adventures of Miss Fireball" I agree it is great. I just finished reading it.

(Yikes - I'm bumping up a 5-month-old topic! Sorry, guys! )
I went to her Two Woman Show back in May, and yes, Vicki herself wrote lyrics for the opening to MF, but when she presented them to Joe, he said he could write better lyrics sitting on a toilet (his way of rejecting her lyrics), so that is why you've never heard the lyrics to her show. WHen I saw her show in May, she sang the original unaired lyrics to MF and it was awesome. :)
HuntingtonM15 09-25-2003, 07:24 AM I thought Vicki's lyrics were awesome! I wish I could see the lyrics now or have a recording of her singing it. I'm glad I'll get to see it again in November.

But couldn't she have included the lyrics in her book?? She mentions in it the fact that she wrote 'em, but then she doesn't tell us what they are---that drives me CRAZY!! Argh!
Maybe someday I'll find out all the words...

*shrug* Beats me. She was going through a hard time in her life when she was writing her book in '95 so she didn't include them. Don't ask me why :(
HuntingtonM15 09-26-2003, 03:36 PM I don't know if it was just me, but the song seemed to have a lot of lyrics. I should try to write them down when I see her in November!

Bring a recorder, if possible. ;)

I know that you're not supposed to do that, but I would if I could find one small enough!

Ooohhh, that would be so awesome! :D
Yeah, if you could get a hand-held size one, it just might be doable!
