TOPIC-Is the Kid Rock-Sheryl Crow hit "Picture,"the same tune as the GOLDEN GIRLS theme song?

Andrew Gold, writer of "Thank You for being a Friend,"a.k.a. "The Golden Girls Theme" "I'll check with my lawyers. All I noticed about the Kid Rock-Sheryl Crow song is that I was deeply disappointed. I usually love Sheryl Crow and I thought this song was really, really like bad country music... I don't particulary like my own song, but it's my accountant's favorite, let's put it that way."

Spokesperson for Crow's label, A&M Records "What? That's hilarious!"-Kimberly Reyes

The two songs don't sound anything alike.

I downloaded "Picture" out of curiosity, and I don't think the two songs sound anything alike. "Picture" is more like a twangy, awful country song.

They don't sound anything alike.

And as for "Picture" soundin' like "country" music, it doesn't to me---I'm a big country fan, and was so perplexed when I heard it on country radio and on CMT.

I was like, "What th--?!"

OK... I have to admit.... I do SLIGHTLY hear it... let me try to illustrate...

Here are the words that sound similar, one on top of the other. You have to have heard the song a few times to get where it's coming from...

I saw your picture today...
Thank you for bein' a friend...

I need to change my ways...
Travel down the road and back again

I just called to say I need you... to come back home
Your heart is true... your a pal and a confidente...

**I'm not sure of the words to the last line of "picture," but I think it's comething like that.**

It's a stretch, but there is some similarity.

I can't stand that song. It's way too overplayed on the radio stations here. If I ever hear it again, I'll grab a bloody ax and chop my radio up into 399085955 little peices. :)

Whoa, is anyone getting sued for that?

I doubt it. The rest of the songs are too different from each other, what jayman posted were the only real examples, and, like, he said, even those are a STRETCH.
