Looks like that upcoming episode schedule will be changed a lot. The reason is that Wings will only be airing every night at 1 a.m. starting Wednesday, April 16.

For the full schedule changes, go to the General Sitcoms board and click on Nick@Nite April.

N@N really sucks! I think Wings is far funnier than The Cosby Show and Three's Company :(

WHAT???? Nick is going to run "Wings" at 1 AM starting mid-April???? (and only ONE episode per night at that!)

What's going ON here? Nick didn't even give the show a CHANCE!

Why bother having a "Wings" marathon at ALL if they're going to banish it to a dead-end, graveyard time slot like that?

It's all my fault. TV shows that I love are treated like crap. I'm surprised I haven't killed The Simpsons, Cheers, and ER.

Maybe if I took a sudden interest in all those reality shows... :D

I can't wait to see N@N's ratings go straight to h-e-double-hockey-sticks faster than you can say "Neilson Box"...

Don't blame yourself, Kristen...but if you might do me a favor and watch "survivor" next week...;)

Nick at Nite sucks. They only gave Wings a little over a week at 11 p.m. before dropping it down to 1 a.m. and one of those nights it wasn't on. There is one good thing about the schedule change: I'm only guessing that since Cheers is back on at 10, Cosby will go back to 9 and Kid's Say won't be on at all.

It would great if the next schedule change had Wings back at 11. Cheers and Wings would be great back to back. Just like when our show started.

I am really pissed off at N@N. I was just starting to get into Wings, and then they stick it at 1am.

Do they really think puttng it on at 1am is going to help the ratings? And even if I did accept that, I'm also anrgy that they are only showing 1 episode a nigt. "The Cosby Show" gets four episodes. "Cheers gets three episodes". "Three' Company" gets four episodes. And "Wings" only gets One.

It also gets me mad that N@N does this to us, because we had more people visiting the board. So I actually thought it was doing well. Why can't the people with a ratings box watch some good shows for a change. This is 2003, you'd think we'd have a better ratings system by now.

This is, in my opinion, the best ratings system. Just because a few people think this show is a "good show," doesn't mean that people with Neilson boxes think so. This simply means that "Wings" wasn't going any good in the ratings is all. The two weeks before "Wings" arrived, "Three's Company" held that spot and must have done very good in it to get it back again. TC has been on one episode a night for months now, and it's been in the same late night timeslot. I do think that TC shouldn't be on NAN. It's the only true classic (is AITF still on there) on the schedule, and I think it should go to TVLand, with the same timeslot.

i agree with you JT. N@N sucks so bad. the shows N@N airs have the dryest humor, and the shows just don't make me laugh. Three's Company is the only good thing on N@N right now...

I think that "Three's Company" should go to TV Land as well. Since Nick at Nite has become the channel of Modern Classics, TC and All in the Family don't make it. Both good shows, just not "Modern." To me modern are shows from the ninties.

The Cosby Show is number 1 for N@N. Okay, so be it. But I still think it's stupid to air it four times a night. Three's Company gets popular, they show it four times a night. What about the shows that aren't that popular? They are the shows that need to be on at better timeslots to get the chance to catch on to people.

Although I agree that Wings has come to N@N too soon, it's my favorite show on the channel, so naturally when people put it down, I'm going to defend it. As I would expect anyone to do with their favorite shows.

Back when "Mary Kay and Johnny" was a television sitcom, way back in 1947, there were no ratings system. So they asked for people who watched the show to phone in and they'd recieve a prize. Many people called in and that's how they knew how many people were watching that show. Unfortunatly, there are no exsisting episodes of "Mary Kay and Johnny" for reruns.

Not everybody has a Neilson Ratings Box. And I would say for an internet poll, but I guess people would vote more than once, and that wouldn't really be accurate either.

I think in order for the current ratings system to be fair, EVERY television should be equipped with a Neilson box. They also need to take into consideration people recording the show and watching it later. I had to do that during the Wings marathon because I had class the next morning and it was also midtems week.

Maybe if N@N had kept Cheers on at 10, it could have brought more viewers to Wings than Cosby did. Cheers and Wings do have a similar audience. N@N execs apparently never thought about this.

Chocoholic

I agree. Cheers is a much better match for Wings than The Cosby Show and Kids Say are.

I think another factor to the ratings might have been war coverage. N@N should have taken that fact into consideration. People are obviously concerned about the war with Iraq.

Freakzilla
04-14-2003, 12:09 PM
You're right about the war. People watch the news at 11, then they either go to sleep or watch Letterman or Leno. But replacing Wings with Three's Company is still a stupid move. One has to wonder why such a popular show was airing for so long at 3 a.m.. Maybe people got tired of it after they figured out that every episode uses the same misunderstanding devices. Maybe people will get tired of Three's Company again.

I don't understand what people like about Three's Company in the first place. It's right up there with Brady Bunch and Full House on my list of bad, corny sitcoms. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

The only thing I like about Three's Company is John Ritter and his slapstick comedy. But I think that show ran too long.

I wouldn't mind too much to move to 1am, the main thing that upsets me is that it goes from 2 episodes a night to just 1. And did you notice that they skipped "High Anxiety"?

When it comes down to Three's Company or Wings I'm gonna go with Wings every time. I used to watch "Three's Company" back on TBS in the 1980's. And then when it first came to Nick @ Nite. I think that was back in 2000. It makes me mad that after months, if not years, of having Three's Company at a late night schedule, when it finally comes back to a decent time, it replaces Wings.

I wouldn't be quite as upset if Wings had been on N@N for awhile and been moved to a later timeslot, but it's only been two weeks since it started. The Cosby Show, Cheers, and Three's Company have all been on N@N for at least a year or two. They should be the first to be bumped to a later timeslot, IMHO.

Nick at Nite always bumps shows around like this, moving them back and forth between different time slots. So you never know, Wings will probably come back to an earlier time slot (hopefully). Remember what they did to Coach when it started airing on N @ N? When it first started, it was a 1 am (Pacific time), then moved to 11, and now it's on at 2 am. I don't understand why N@N doesn't move the shows that have been on the network for a while, like Cosby and Cheers, to a little bit later, and make room for the newer shows. Of course Cosby and Cheers are both great shows, but people who watch Nick at Nite a lot have probably already seen all the episodes of these shows multiple times. Why not give people a chance to see some shows that they haven't seen hundreds of times? I was just starting to get into Coach again, when they moved it to 2 am. I do love Three's Company as well, but have seen all the episodes several times. And now, I was just starting to get into Wings again, and remembering why I used to watch it and have a crush on Tim Daly back when I was in junior high and high school.:loveya:

Looks like they changed it the 2:30am weekend airing of Wings. It is now Coach on Friday and Saturday nights at 2:30am, so Wings is just 1am every night.
