Oh poor baby!. To think your mother would be concerned for her family's safety! Get over it! What a brat!
DarleneIllyria 04-04-2003, 08:55 PM I'm sorry you had to move and leave your friends, etc. That must've been rough, but your mom is just trying to protect you. Attacks are tricky and iffy kind of things. You could live there and maybe live there peacefully, but what if another attack did occur? Your mom was just thinking of the if factor. I'm sure she loves you very much. Maybe she could've asked for your input, but maybe she knew what you were gonna say already. Maybe it would've been easier for you guys to move, if she just pulled up the roots and left.
Don't hold a grudge against your mom. When you get 18, you can move back to NYC.
InspectorExstead 04-05-2003, 09:05 PM i'm sorry you had leave nyc. :(
i've moved so many times, but to places close to each other. there's been like 6 apartments, one house, then another apartment, and now we just got a house. we're in escrow right now, i don't know. we were supposed to be in the house LAST week. but the guy pushed it back to this week, and then he said we can't move in till next week. and escrow's not closed, we haven't signed papers, my rooms a mess. i don't know if i should pack the remainder of my stuff, or wait.
fr00ti 04-05-2003, 09:12 PM Oh yes. In 2000 I moved from Georgia to northern California... my family drove across the country. But It was like moving to another country. It took me a very long time to make any friends, and when I finally did, I moved again. This time from Cali to Alabama. This is definitely the worst place that Ive ever lived, I HATE moving. But when we moved this last time the moving company broke a bunch of our stuff and It really sucked. I hope I never have to move with my family again, its such a pain.

Czas na Zywiec 04-05-2003, 09:48 PM Moving can be both good and bad. It's bad within the first few months, but it's worth it in the end. I regretted moving 1300 from ANY family and friends to a world we didn't know. It was a HUGE culture shock. We went from living in a city of 10 million people where 1/3 of the population speaking Polish to a town of 13,000 with only 3 other families that knew our language. We had to get used to American junk food. We lived off of McDonald's, Pizza Hut, and all that crap for about 6 months. :barf: Then we had a relative come during the summer with like 50 pounds of fresh polish sausage, rye bread, sourkraut, condiments, etc. lol That was the worst part. After growing up and living with that food for 15 years, you kinda miss it if it's out of your reach. I just can't get used to greasy hamburgers. :thumbsdow

*PinkLady* 04-06-2003, 09:45 AM I've never moved. But I'd like to, because frankly, there's nothing keeping me here.
AnaheimPMWitch 04-06-2003, 02:31 PM I'm with you on that one Jimmiegirl I HATE Oregon the ONLY thing keeping me here is my family If I had a better paying Job and enough money in the Bank I'd move to California in a heartbeat
