Frasier is close to being cancelled. Ratings are really down this season. It used to be the show that can beat anything. But ths season, it has really taken a toll. Last season, it ranked #17 overall. Now it's ranking 40th or 50th for new episodes. It's being beaten by the Guardian and 24, which was not possible last season. NBC will most likely announce in May that next season will be the last. If there wasn't a 3 year deal in place to keep it running through May 2004, this would've been the last. Next season, look for Frasier to move it's time slot to a less competitive one.
This season has not been anywhere near average like last. It has been a season of extremes. Every episode has either been better or worse than average. It started out dismal with "Enemy at the Gate", "Proxy, Prexy", "The Harassed", "Door Jam" and a few others throughout the season. But we have seen real comedy once again this season with "Rooms With a View", Fraternal Schwinns", "Daphne Does Dinner", "Some Assembly Required" and a handful of others.
Being a huge Frasier fan, NBC and Paramount need to do the right thing-end Frasier on a good note like they did with Cheers. This way it won't be remembered for the show that stayed too long.

Have you checked the ratings lately? It used to dominate even with a 9.5/15. Now it's at 6.0/10 getting beaten by it's competition. It will drop even further. This is why it's being preempted a lot. Either way, Kelsey said 11 years would be the graceful exit from the show on the 200th!
Let's face it. It's a great show but it had its day in the sun. Now it's time to wrap it up. Frasier isn't what it used to be. The writing has weakened considerably. The stories have become mediocre at times such as the parking lot fiasco, the harassment episode and the condo board meeting all in the same season. When Frasier is sitting in a parking lot the whole time yelling his mouth off, you know it's time to end. There were about 6 others this season that were bad also.
I just want the show to go out on top. It will be embarrassing to end on a bad note. Now that the show is improved, end it while it's good after 11.

Ratings are everything in tv. They affect advertising rates. The show is too expensive to produce. That's why ratings are important. It's not Dateline afterall.
I'm a huge Frasier fan, not a fan of bad episodes or of poor writing. I've seen it drop lately in writing. It's not quite as sharp as it was in the past. Lots will agree with me.

Frasier is guaranteed one more year. It will not be cancelled I assure you.
