Just Like Mom.
This is at Rick an Jo's Apartment in The Bronx,Jo and Rick
are fighting and Jamie is in her room talking on the phone.


Jo: You know Rick I just wish you could tell me why every single
night with your buddies and come home late,even if you have
to work the next day!,What's the problem.
Rick:That's none of your business and besides it's like if you
you don't with your friends!
Jo: I haven't been out with my friends in 15 years!
Jamie hears the argument and slams down her phone.
Jamie: Alright!,I have had it with you two!,that is the 50th
fight I have refereed,Mom get a grip will you!
Jo: Hey!,don't you talk to me like that again!
Jamie:Whatever,it's like if you never talked back to Grandma Rose
and Grandpa Charlie!
Jo:Sit down Jamie!,I need to talk to you!,Rick leave us!
Jo:Now I have had it up to my head with your disrespect!,'
the next time you smart off to me like that young lady,you
will be using sign language for the rest of your life!,Now you get
up and you go to your room and no phone or TV for two months!
Go now!,You're also grounded for two months!
Jamie: But Mom!
Jo: Don't you but mom me!
Jamie angrily stomps back in to her room and slams the door.
That night when her parents are both asleep Jamie sneaks out
of the apartment,she quietly closes the door.
Jamie then goes outside and hops on her motorcycle.
She drives down to an old broken down home where her
boyfriend Eric lives ,his parents are both drug dealers and they
never home,Eric is 17 and is a rebel himself.
Jamie:Hey!Eric!,I'm here
Eric:Damn girl!,it's 11:00 at night!,what are you doing here!
Jamie:I came to see you,I got in a fight with my mom!and she
thinks she can ground me for two months!
Eric: What you do this time?
Jamie:No big deal,I was talking back to her and she got all mad!,
I tell you my parents are the worst!.

The next day at work Jo recieves a call from Jamie's
school,this is because Jamie didn't go to school.
Jo: Hello,Jo Bonner speaking.
Man:Sorry to bother you Mrs.Bonner but this Jamie's school principal,I was informed by the teachers that your daughter
did not show up for school today?,Is she sick or is there a problem?,You did not notify the school by 8:00,school policy.
Jo: No,I'll take of this .
Man:Thank you.
Jo: Anytime
It's 4:00,Jo gets off of work at this time and she catches Jamie
sneaking back into the apartment.
Jo: Hold it right there!
Jamie: What do you want!
Jo: Inside!
Jamie stands still with her arms crossed.
Jo: Inside,now!
Jamie stumbles into the aparment and tries to go into her room
but Jo grabs her arm and shoves her on the couch!
Jo:Jamie wha'ts going on?,
Jamie: Nothiing I was just coming home from school.
Jo:You were not at school today!,I got a call from your principal
Jamie: So what!,big deal!
Jo: Hey!you wanna push it for three months!
Rick then enters and packs his suitcase.
Jamie: Dad! ,is happy to seek her father who always bails her out.
Rick:Sorry,Jamie you're on your own,your mother here,apparently
wants a divorce,bye honey.,Rick then leaves out the door.
Jamie:What!a divorce!,are you out of your mind!
Jo:Don't talk to me like that!
Jamie:Don't tell me what to do,stomps angrily
Jo: Come here!,
Jo slaps Jamie's face so hard that we then a hear loud smack!
Jamie: Ow!,You didn't have to slap me!, crying.
Jo: Go to her room!
Jamie:That's why Dad left us,because all you do is fight!
Jo; Do you feel this hand swat across your bottom!
Jamie: No! ,she is still sobbing
Jo: Well into your room!,now
Jamie goes into her room.

Well,so for having Jo's mood go out of control ,
anyway here's more.
Jamie sneaks out of her room and is still crying,she wipes
tears off her face,she goes into the living room to find her
mom asleep on the couch,she goes into the kitchen,grabs
a soda out of the refrigerator and heads back into her room.
She suddenly grabs her phone and dials Blair's number.
Blair is at home doing paperwork when the phone rings.
Blair:Hello?
Jamie:Aunt Blair it's me Jamie.
Blair:Jamie!,How are you doing girl?
Jamie: Fine,she says this slowly.
Blair:Jamie is there is something wrong?
Jamie:What's makes you say that?
Blair:Jamie,you sound like somethings bothering you.
Jamie:Ok,it's mom,she and dad are having problems,they're
getting divorced,I snuck out my house last night and skipped
school and didn't come home until four this afternoon and mom
all sudden of a sudden was so out of control,she started screaming at me real bad and started hitting me!,Please talk
to her Aunt Blair!,I didn't mean to upset her.
Blair:Where is she now?
Jamie:In the living room asleep on the couch?
Blair:Tell you what I'll call her later tonight.
Jamie:Oh,Aunt Blair thank you,and please don't tell her
I called you.I'm not supposed to be using the phone ok.
Blair: I won't sweetie,trust me.
Jamie: Ok,Bye.
Blair: Bye.
Jamie quickly hangs up the phone.
Jo then wakes up .
Jo:Jamie come here.
Jamie gulps and head into the living room.
Jo:Sit down kid I want to talk to you.
Jamie:Great,here we go again!
Jo:Hey !,don't try to fight me now!
Jamie:Mom come on!,your temper is like a fire burning down
Yellowstone Park right now.You'll probably need a bag of ice
from the freezer just to cool down.
Jo:Ok,you're right,I'm jumped on to you like that,but listen I just
want you to make the same mistake I almost did.
Jamie:What kind of mistake?
Jo:I almost quit Eastland,when a guy I was dating,not your father
asked me to marry him ,at first I thought it was cool,but then I reconsidered it and stayed at school until I graduated.
Jamie:Who was the guy?
Jo:Eddie Brennan.
Jamie:Eddie Brennan?,Isn't that Kevin Brennan's dad?
Jo:Yes,
Jamie:I might have known.
Jo:Well,why don't you we order a pizza for dinner.
Jaime:That sounds great mom!
A few minutes their food arrives and they eat,after that Jamie
goes to bed and Jo does some cleaning around the house,the
phone then rings and Jo picks it up.
Jo:Hello,Blair!
Blair:Jo it's me.,Listen is everything going alright?
Jo:Sure Blair why?
Blair:Well I have wondering alot about you lately,I just this
awful feeling that something's been happening to you.
Jo:Well ok,truth is me and Rick are getting divorced and Jamie's
behavior is rambunctious,last night she snuck out and didn't to
school yesterday,her principal called me at work and then I came
home so upset that we both fought and I started to slap her,
I actually grounded her for three months!,How coul I be so cruel
to my only child!,I'm such an idiot!.
Blair:Jo,calm down!.Listen that's all just part of growing up,I mean
I have my two daughters Melissa and Erica ,Melissa is twelve right now and she thinks that she's going to to get all the freedomin the world as she turns thirteen,but you have to remember you have had your turn on the wild side.
Jo:I guess your right.
Blair:I gotta go Melissa and Erica are ready for bed,
Goodnight and call me anytime you want to talk.
Jo: Thanks I will,Goodnight.
Jo hangs up the phone and goes to sleep on her bed.

Thanks for the reviews guys and right now I'm taking rest

The next morning in the kitchen.
Jo wakes up and makes a pot of coffee and after a while
she pours a cup and sits down at the table,Jamie then gets up
and goes to the kitchen and gets a bowl of cereal,She pours
in the milk and gets a spoon to start to eat without saying anything,they both sit in silence,then Jo suddenly speaks.
Jo:Ok,Ok,calm on break the silent treatment.
Jamie: Please Mom,I'm not in the mood for another fight.
Jo: That doesn't mean that can't talk to me in the morning.
Jamie:Well hurry up cause I got to go get ready for school
and plus I got to meet Eric before I do .
Jo:Wait a minute,is Eric the one who got you in trouble.
Jamie:No,when I snuck out I went to his house and I didn't
go to school the next day so I stayed at his home.
Jo:Where is his parents home.
Jamie:His parents are druggies and they're never home.
Jo:Well if he's that type of guy I want you stay away from him.
Jaime:Mom!,we didn't use any drugs!
Jo:That's not the point!,the point is I don't want to hear you
were in his house if the police ever go there to deal with his parents,even worse they could also offer you drugs!
Jamie:Mom!,they won't do that!
jo:Oh,and how do you know that!,come on Jamie we live in The
Bronx,This is not actually Park Avenue we're dealing with here!
Jamie:Ok!,Ok!,I get your point!,can I go now!
Jo: Yes,you're late as is,go get ready!'
Jamie goes to get ready,get her books and her motorcylce keys.
Jo:Whoa!,wait a minute,you aren't taking that bike to the bike of
yours to school today !,besides you're not of legal age yet!.
Jamie:Mom I'll be sixteen in five months!
Jo:And you can wait till those five months,come on grab your stuff,
I'm taking you to school today.
Jamie:I'd rather walk to school!
Jo:Don't get smart with me!,and besides I want to make that's
were you're headed ,I don't want you are truant again.
Jamie:Ok,Ok,fine!
Jamie gets her stuff and Jo grabs her keys,they head out the door,.Jamie gets on the passengers side and slumps down.
Jamie:I still don't see why you didn't let me walk today.
Jo:Look Jamie I can just get just to workwithout fighting.
Jamie:Fine!
Jo:Hey if you want to pout I can just take you back home right
now,and you can do double chores to make that up!
Jamie:Forget it!,I mean you've already grounded me for three months!,I'm mad enough at you already!
Jo: Do you want to talk about this!
Jamie: No.
Jo: That's what I thought,now get out!
Jamie:What a load of crap!
She gets outs and slams the car door before Jo can say anything
else,but she scowls at Jamie as she drives off.
Jamie then walks down the street as the first bell rings
Jamie then grumbles to herself.
Jaime:I'm not going to school today,I don't what Mom says
and besides I'm not in the mood to face my teachers.
Inside school office.
Teacher:Mr.Walker,Jamie Bonner did not show up again,
were you notified by a parent about her absence.
Principal:No but I'll take note of this again Mrs.Miller.
Teacher: Thank you.
Jamie is then seen heading to Eric's house.
Jamie goes up and shouts from outside.
Jamie:Eric!
Eric: Your here again!
Jamie:Yea!,well actually I 'm not supposed to be here
because my mom thinks she left me at school cause she dropped
me off today,but I don't care just as long as I have you,
Eric:Your mom's gonna kill you before you reach twenty-one.
Jamie:Who cares!
They then start to kiss.
Jo is at work when the phone starts to ring.
Jo:Hello,Jo Bonner speaking
Man:Sorry to bother you again Mrs.Bonner but this Jamie's school
principal ,I was just notified by her English teacher Mrs.Miller
that she'd didn't show up for class again,and again you failed
to notify us by school policy,Is there anything wrong?
Jo:What?!!,I dropped her off at school this morning!
Man:Is there anything wrong Mrs.Bonner.
Jo:No,I'm fine,I can handle this
Man:Well thank you bye,bye.
Jo:No problem.bye.
Jo slams down the phone in anger.a lady near her desk notices.
Lady: Jo is there something wrong ?
Jo:No,Sarah I'm fine thanks anyway.
Lady:Sure anytime.
Meanwhile Jamie stays at Eric's house until three o'clock
and she gets into the apartment,school lets out at this time
so she thinks she's home free and that her mom doesn't know
anything about,she sits on the couch and turns on the TV.
After awhile Jamie falls asleep,but she won't be for long,it
three-fourty,It's almost time for her mother to get home
but she ignores the time and goes back to sleep.
A while later the door opens .
Jamie:Great!,Mrs.Grinch has arrived home!.
Jo throws her keys on the table.
Jamie suddenly jumps up.
Jo:You did it again didn't you?
Jamie:Did what again?
Jo:Don't play dumb with me!,I what I mean!
Jamie:Ok I so skipped school again big deal!
Jo:Oh you can bet it is a big deal,get up!
Jamie gets up from the couch.
Jo:I have some work for you to do.
Jamie:Uh I got a test tomorrow ,I'll go study first.
Jo:No,you're doing this first!
Jamie:What do I have to!
Jo: The dishes,then vaccum this whole apartment,then you can
dust the furniture,after that clean your room.
Jamie:What!,you're being unfair!
Jo:Oh ,no life isn't fair Jamie,so shut up and deal with it!
Jamie:Parents!
Jo:Well get after it
Jamie: No I'm not doing that!
Jo:Do you want extra?
Jamie:It doesn't matte,I still won't do it!.
Jo :I need to see you in my room now!
Jamie; Ok.
She follows Jo into her room and she lays down on the bed.
Jo:No!,sit up!
Jamie sits up.
Jo:Now listen,I've had it with you!,You're always talking back to me,refusing to do what I tell you,and worst of all you skip school!
Jamie:Ok ,I'll do it !
Jo:Well then go do it!
Jamie storms out of the room and begins her chores.
Jo then notices a picture of herself of when she was sixteen,
she had has her fatigues outfit and her hair in a ponytail.
Jo:God,what I'm doing,It's like I'm seeing my life flash before me,
Jamie is a clone,She acts and talks just the teenage Jo did.
After a while from at the picture,she throws it.
Jo looks down at it one more time.
Jo: You're right I don't miss you either!,scowls at the picture.
Jamie is busy with her chores when Jo goes into the living room.
Jo; Jamie.
Jamie:I didn't do anything .
Jo:I didn't say you did,It's that I got something on my mind now.
Jamie:What now!,you want to throw me on the streets so I can
live like one of the bums outside begging for food and money.
Jo:I don't know is just that me and you both argue,It's like
I close my eyes,and see myself see myself as a teenager arguing
about everything constatly with my parents.
Jamie:Guess I've been a nightmare for you haven't I.
Jo:Close,but I've been thinking I 've been a little too hard
on you lately and my temper has been like-
Jamie: A volcano eruption,Jo laughs.
Jo: Well yeah I you can say that.
Jamie:So I get it,now you're going to send me off into boarding
school and keep me away from Eric,just like Grandma Rosie did
in order to keep to you away from Eddie.
Jo:You part of that didn't work.
Jamie:I know what you mean,but you met Mrs G.,Blair,Natalie
and Tootie and if it wasn't for them who knows where you
be now,probably out on the streets looking for trouble.
Jo:Come here,you just too smart for me!
She then hugs Jamie.
And so after that Jamie stopped seeking Eric and started
going to school more and her principal stopped calling
her mom ,and she was happy after that because that
meant less chores,and for her mom that meant less hot
tempers and no more fights.
