does anyone know where mepos is? i thought it was near greece and when i looked on a map i thought that perhaps it was the island of malta. upon calling their u.s. embassy i discovered that in fact, malta has nothing to do with mepos at all. the person i spoke to didn't know where mepos was.

i recently met my future wife on the internet (who is coincidentally named jennifer!) and i would like to take her to mepos on our honeymoon. perhaps we could take in the sights of mepos- i always found it to be a beautiful country in the opening credits of the show. perhaps we could herd sheep just like balki did!

I read somewhere that Mypos was in fact part of Greece or near it. I wasn't sure if it really existed, though.

I'm pretty certain it's a ficticious location.

I believe it has been stated during the course of the show that it is an island in the Mediterranean Sea. It was also stated that Mypos is in a "cross" figure with other islands, among them Skeptos.

I can't guarantee you that Mypos and Skeptos are real, unfortunately.

I always assumed Mypos was fictitious

Hi,

As someone who lives very near to the area Mepos was supposed to exist i can tell you that MEPOS IS A FINCTIONAL ISLAND.

I live in Cyprus, and in one episode Balcky used a strange baby language and said that he has learned it in Cyprus.

From what i am guessing from all the clues we have throught the series if Mepos was to be a real island it should be placed in either of the two locations:

1) A tiny independed island between Malta and Crete

or

2) A tiny independed island between Crete and Cyprus

Another thing about the nationality of the "Mepians"...the situation must resemble very much the ethnicity of the Maltans as throught the show we never saw Balcky to have any sence of nationality which was to be either greek or italian in that area of mediterenean sea.

Hope this helps
