View Full Version : Making the Video: Avril Lavigne, "Losing Grip" vienna waits 04-01-2003, 01:40 AM Whaddaya think of the video? I think it's her best one yet.. my favorite Avril song. Kristina 04-01-2003, 02:33 AM I watched it, the video was okay. I liked the live concept but when she all leaned over I was thinkin 'how cheesy' lol. ~*Hannah_Lee*~ 04-01-2003, 11:50 PM I've never seen it. SBTB Geek 04-02-2003, 01:14 AM The song is alright, but the video was lame. Mr. Stefani 04-02-2003, 05:43 PM never seen it...i heard the song on z100, and i dont like it. all her songs are about guys dumping her. the video probably sucks too. shes probably attempting to be hardcore in it tho. Mossopp 04-02-2003, 06:34 PM I'm no Avril fan but 'Losing Grip' is an OK song. I've never seen the video though. Kay Scarpetta 04-02-2003, 08:46 PM I can tolerate the song. I've never seen the video though Adele 04-02-2003, 09:57 PM Of course she's trying to look hardcore. I KNEW she'd go and try to have some hardcore rock video live performance type of thing. It's annoying. And the way the song sounds on the album annoys me, too. Those stupid sound effects in the beginning, and just the way her voice sounds. It's so effing fake man. She doesn't sing like that live at all. Everyone talks about how bad she sings live, but I really think the live performances are better. I'd rather her that low, more than often off-tune voice, than that ****ing fake, perfectly polished **** on the CD. I can't stand it. And I agree that the bending over part is so cheesy. The one where she does that queer hand thing, I can tolerate, but it's the other one, where she's bending over and like yelling and throwing her fist in the camera or whatever the ****. I dunno, but it's bad. And why is Avril always pushing people? Ya Av, we understand, you're tough, you don't need to fake push and punch the weird dudes in ur vid, k? And that whole jump freeze thing....I dunno, the whole thing is just a poor attempt to try and make Avril and her music look hardcore rock, and it's so obvious. And during the making of the vid. Avril and "her bois" () are all "oh yaa, doesnt get anymore real than this. like this is what its like when we perform. The same kind of like atmosphere, the audience, like us rocking out.....I know this vid is going to be perfect. This is the way it is, like totally, this is how our shows go." Not exact words but whatever. Same kind of atmosphere? Same kind of audience? Please. The people in that video were all like 20, and from what I've heard, and can on;y guess, the average age of people at her shows is like, 10? And moshing (and that wasn't even moshing....just a bunch of fans jumping up and down, sorry), and crowdsurfing? Ha, ya right. But Avril admitted that none of that happens at her shows. "all the liabilities" "getting sued for breaking someone's nose with my microphone" Oh ok. And JUST when all those 12 year old Avril look-a-likes at the mall were beginning to stop with their lame reenactments of the Complicated video and finally fade away, NOW they're going to return. Only this time, tie-less, camouflaged, and ready to run into their Ex's and start pushing them. Not to mention all the talk we'll hear about how they spent their weekend moshing in their friend's basement. David 04-02-2003, 10:54 PM my honest "simon" opinion..... "Losing Grip" the song, i would give a 7/10. "Losing Grip" the video, i would give a 3/10. She needs more interesting videos. She's pop, not rock, she needs to stop trying SOO hard. Okay, I like the song. The video is just boring. InspectorExstead 04-03-2003, 01:45 AM i love the song, but i thought the video was too sk8er boish. ya know? and they said they were going to do all these cool things in the making the video, that never showed up on the actual video. like when they put hair on the camera to make it look like avril was seeing things. |
