View Full Version : Post your all-time favorite episode here TJ 02-15-2000, 11:21 PM What is your all-time favorite episode of Diff'rent Strokes and why? Pavan 02-17-2000, 10:27 PM Another classic sitcom! Too bad no cable channel airs this show. Screen Gems Netwok should show this show way more then twice in 4 months or something. Bewitched and Jeannie are classics but they already air on Nick at Nite and TVLand. Well its a toughy to say which is the best episode. All were great! I'll narrow it down! The Hitchhikers Part 1 and 2: This is a classic, nearly everyone wants this episode on tape! Is this episode to best of all-time? Some say it is, some say its up there with the final episode of MASH and The Edith Raper 2 Parter! DS probably had the best 2 parters in TV History. Jeffersons and All in the Family also had good ones. Another one I like is when they go to Hollywood and the one where the bank robbers rob the bank. Another one is Arnold and Willis in the kitchen baking brownies. These are just some! And I wish Nick at Nite or someone will show them so I get refreshed with this series! Lane64 04-10-2000, 10:21 AM My all time favorite episode was when Arnold's goldfish, Abraham, died. I remember sitting there crying through that episode! Stigmata 04-12-2000, 08:29 AM Since I've seen just one episode in the past 10 years, my favorite episode would have to be the Christmas episode in which Arnold befriends a street corner Santa, and then the street corner Santa enps up robbing them blind. It was a good episode, but I guess it wins by default, since it's the only one I can remember well enough to comment on. The only reason I was able to see it was tahnks the the Classic Gems Network, as they showed a string of Christmas themed episodes from various shows on Christmad Eve. Even then, I had to wait until 2:30 AM to watch it. It was well worth the wait! I agree Hitchhiker is a really good episode. If time allows I will post it in some video format. locoarts 08-12-2000, 03:35 AM well I have a few .. I have to say the one with 1.Dudley's father smoking! ( because of that..I really never have smoked..lol)..also the 2.Bike Store owner (with arnold/dudley..having pics of them taken)3. The hitchhiker ....((( does anyone .. still get the show on TV??... if so maybe we can trade..or work something out.. locoarts@hotmail.com).. sarah2112 11-24-2000, 05:11 PM My favorite was the one where Willis wanted to go out with a white woman, and the white woman's brother wanted to go out with Kimberly. Arnold somehow got a tape recording of the brother telling the girl she could not date Willis because he was black. When the brother came to pick up Kimberly for a date, he was surprised to see Kimberly disguised as a black woman! PomeranzFan1 12-29-2000, 06:36 PM The one where Dorothy Hamill (as herself!) shows up at the local ice-skating rink, and sees Olympic promise in Kimberly, because *I* am an ice-skater (not professional or elite, but to me it is more than just a hobby)! Also, can anyone tell me if Dana Plato did her own skating in that episode, or did she have a stand-in? TJ 12-29-2000, 07:14 PM Yes, that was really Dana ice skating. That was one of her hobbies - in fact, she was training for the Olympics when she got the part on Diff'rent Strokes. I don't think she ever competed at the national trials or anything like that, but for several years she did that wake up at 4AM, go to the ice rink thing. She was also planning on building her own ice rink in Florida prior to her tragic death. PomeranzFan1 12-30-2000, 10:30 AM Wow, thanks, TJ! That question was burning in my mind for, like, forever! BTW, I *just* got TV Land added to my regular cable lineup. I'm ready any time they wanna put Diff'rent Strokes on it! I remember it so vividly but would still love to see it again. Anyone have it on tape?
