Don't get me wrong, I love Frasier...BUT...after just watching the new episode in the UK, tonight, "Daphne Does Dinner", I have to say I found this this episode terrible and painful to sit through. The storyline was messy and relied way too much on sloppy slapstick and regurgatated jokes (remember the Ski Lodge episode)??..now that was a funny episode!

It is so obvious Frasier has run out of steam and without a doubt needs to be cancelled by NBC as soon as possible.

I think Frasier should have been cancelled at the end of season 6, season 7 the latest.

It seems as though David Angell had a big hand in keeping the quality of this show and since his sad departure Frasier has slipped and slipped in standards.

It is such a shame watching a show that started out so great in the beginning only just to stay on the air to match the length of its predecessor, Cheers.

Here's hoping Dr. Frasier Crane will be put out of his misery soon!;)

Frasier has left the building!

I'll agree that the quality of Frasier has slipped over the years. However, I still feel that the show is much better than a lot of the new stuff out today.

Finally a proper chance for me to comment on an episode I've just seen when it's topical!

I have to say I thought this episode was the best so far this season. I can see where Peter's coming from about the slapstick, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that type of humour if it's not used all the time. I don't think 'Frasier' relies on slapstick - much of the humour of that episode was also down to some great lines. Frasier and Daphne both gave especially good performances. It was the first time this Season that I had laughed out loud!

I would also say though that it could have had a much better ending - surely more could have been made of the real artist when he appeared at the end, especially in such surreal circumstances!

Although I didn't think that this farcical episode quite lived up to the standards of previous ones (Yes, 'The Ski Lodge'!) I still think that the shows deals with this type of comedy very well.

I think the last couple seasons were going downhill but this season I think they have done a GREAT job of making the show GREAT again!

The quality might have slipped but I also think it's still a great show and it's worth watching!

I totally agree with you Frasier is getting a bit old. It seems like its the same thing over and over again

Come on! This season has been one of its finest. Hilarious Star Trek references in "Star Mitsvah", awesome slapstick in "Daphne Does Dinner", perfect comedic execution in "Fraternal Schwinns", over-the-top acting in "Proxy Prexy", a hilarious ending in the parking deck episode, the cool silliness of the cavier episode and more! Frasier has certainly not jumped the shark yet!

But it's just like every other sitcom out there now; shows that the majority of which get cancelled after one or two seasons.

FRASIER is no longer fresh; and that's why it's slipped.

I love the Frasier show too but this past season has been minging and I bailed out ages ago. The worse thing they did was get niles and Daff together. After that it all fell apart and the impetus left the show. Shoulda left the building 2 seasons ago...sorry to say :(
