On May 4th, CBS will show a three hour bio pic on Lucille Ball. It will trace her life and career up to her marriage and the end of the I Love Lucy series. The movie will also incorporate real life vignettes and re-create some of the classic I Love Lucy moments . Broadway actress Rachel York will play Lucy and Daniel Pino is cast as Ricky.

Why remake the classic bits? Why not just show the real thing! I'll never understand these programme makers. They could never recreate the best bits anyway, 'cause they'll never get people to put the right spin on things. That necessary cheimstry won't be there.
Course, others may well think differently!

Thanks and no thanks to the creators of this Lucy special. I would rather see and learn about Lucille Ball's life after her post-ILL work. There has been so many specials over her work before "I Love Lucy" and the show itself that it is time to see a special over her later work such as "The Lucy Show"/"Here's Lucy", the movies she starred in - "Yours, Mine, and Ours", "Mame, "Stone Pillow" and numerous specials she was in with Bob Hope and other countless celebrities. Her later years was just as interesting as her early years.

I too think it would be a good idea to do a TV Movie on Lucy's life after I Love Lucy . There have been several TV movies on her early days and she had a good career after I Love Lucy and they need to show how successful she was and what happened after ILL went off the air. Enough of early Lucy .

So they'll do a sequel, especially, if this one is very successful, which you know it will be, they've already planned it for sweeps! The 50th anniversary special was up against Saving Private Ryan and so many other blockbusters and still did better, then it was rerun two more times, which is unheard of for a special, and again both time it garnered huge ratings, so if this movie's a hit, don't worry, they'll do a second part. And i aslo would love to see that, although you have to admit the end will be very SAD! Her last ten years were no PICNIC!
