this show needs a spin off, but what?

Not really. I feel sorry for Drew's character. His character is such a loser that he makes Al Bundy look like the luckiest sitcom character. He should not be type casted as a loser, It'll be more depressing for him to be respected like John Ritter & Tiffany Theissan.

Atleast Ed O'Neil now plays a cop in the current remake of "Dragnet" and it had great reviews.

[SIZE=3]Great idea: Drew Carey does a gritty cop show![SIZE]

No more a loser.

BTW, "The Drew Carey" started as a mediocre sitcom & became depressing after the fourth season ....more depressing after each episode. Even George Costanza had more luck than Drew.

Drew Carey, the actor, should avoid being typed cast.

I would like to see him as somebody tougher & not afraid to stand up for him self.

And his friends (on the show) aren't funny. Kate's too haggardly unfunny. Lewis & Oswald are morons. Mimi says the same old joke in every episode. Not to mention Drew Carey is a fat drunken hapless barfly.

most spin offs aren't for the star character, they are for a supporting character, or even a character that was only in one episode.

The only character that I could really see in a spin-off is Kate. It would show what her life has been like after leaving Drew and the gang.
