I watched the episode when Archie didn't want to have dinner with the Jeffersons and i heard something that kind of confused me. Archie said the jeffersons lived down the block. I thought the Jeffersons lived right next door. So did the Jeffersons lived down the street at one point and then moved next door to the Bunkers?

Yes, they lived next door to one another. In fact their house is in back of where Archie and Edith live. In the episode,"Pay The Twenty Dollars",Archie is out all night for working for Munson at the cab company and he wants to go to bed and George comes over and yells at Archie to come down here. Beforehand, Archie looks out the bedroom window and says, "Look what they've done in the bedroom(Jefferson's house) and they're crazy about stripes(they must have had striped wallpaper in their bedroom). Also, Irene and Frank, who lived in the McNabb's house lived across the street from Archie and Edith.

Ok okay-just wondering. Especially since Archie said-"Those new people who moved in down the block. So that statements conflicts with future episodes that says the Jeffersons live next door.

In the episode where the Jeffersons first moved in, Archie said they had moved "two doors away, can you believe that". Later when the Jeffersons became more regular characters, it was better for plot development to have them right next door. For a series to change certain facts midway hoping we will not notice is not unusual, and inconsistencies like this happened on AITF all the time. And who knows, maybe George had the house between theirs and the Bunkers torn down so he could have a bigger house, thus making the Jeffersons next door to the Bunkers.

Well that makes a lot df sense Jon. I guess saying the Jeffersons lived right next door when they became regulars would have made better plots. So i guess they figured that no one would notice. But nothing gets pass the Sitcom analyzer.
