If you were alive in the 1950's when I Love Lucy was first on television do you think you would think that people would still be watching 50 years later?

View Full Version : If you had been alive in......? Beruche 10-23-2001, 10:50 PM If you were alive in the 1950's when I Love Lucy was first on television do you think you would think that people would still be watching 50 years later? dawsongirl 10-23-2001, 11:07 PM Nope. I don't think a lot of people did. DarleneIllyria 10-24-2001, 03:43 PM hmmm...If I lived during the time the show first aired, I wouldn't think it would get as much attention as it has gotten. It sure went down as classic gold didn't it? ------------------ Hottest Men alive: Dale Midkiff Anthony Starke Tim McGraw Jonathan Crombie Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud? Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit. Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit. Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger. [Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter] Dale Midkiff is my man! :) selleckfan4ever 01-18-2014, 03:14 AM yes,i was alive in the 1950s and still watch the show today(2014) Dianne3 01-20-2014, 05:53 PM Wow, this thread is 12 years old. selleckfan4ever 05-09-2015, 09:18 PM me too and its 2015 LittleRickyII 05-09-2015, 09:56 PM yes,i was alive in the 1950s and still watch the show today(2014) Wow, this thread is 12 years old. me too and its 2015 If you were alive in the 1950s, you are not 12 years old. Schmoopie 05-10-2015, 01:33 AM If you were alive in the 1950s, you are not 12 years old. They meant the THREAD is 12 years old, not their age. Anyway, I was not alive in the 50's but there are a lot of shows from back then that still hold up today. Lucy is kind of timeless in a way because they could easily make a similar show (God help us if they ever try-and I'm sure they will) and it would still be relevant. Never thought about that before but that is a sign of a good show. Marvo301 05-10-2015, 06:34 PM In the early 50's most people thought TV was a passing fad and that TV itself wouldn't be around in 50 years much less any specific programs!! Hughsgirl 05-11-2015, 09:53 AM As much as I love the show, I would have never thought it would have been around 50 years later. That goes to show how blessed we all are who wasn't around back then! I can't imagine a world without ever having known Lucy or her shows. LittleRickyII 05-12-2015, 01:39 AM They meant the THREAD is 12 years old, not their age. Dianne3 (not selleckfan4ever) meant that the thread is 12 years old. She said the thread is 12 years old, and selleckfan4ever responded, "me too." "Me" is a reference to oneself, not the thread. |
