Nope. I don't think a lot of people did.

hmmm...If I lived during the time the show first aired, I wouldn't think it would get as much attention as it has gotten. It sure went down as classic gold didn't it?

They meant the THREAD is 12 years old, not their age. Anyway, I was not alive in the 50's but there are a lot of shows from back then that still hold up today. Lucy is kind of timeless in a way because they could easily make a similar show (God help us if they ever try-and I'm sure they will) and it would still be relevant. Never thought about that before but that is a sign of a good show.

In the early 50's most people thought TV was a passing fad and that TV itself wouldn't be around in 50 years much less any specific programs!!

As much as I love the show, I would have never thought it would have been around 50 years later. That goes to show how blessed we all are who wasn't around back then! I can't imagine a world without ever having known Lucy or her shows.
