I remember a very few times Fonzie letting his gaurd down and almost crying(one time he did).

- At Richie's bedside in the hospital after his motorcycle crashes (Fonzie is crying)
- Richie leaves for California Part 2(while talking to Richie in the final scene), Richie says I love you Fonz. He replies emotionally I love you too.
- Reading the letter from his father at Christmas, "I don't know your gonna take this"(speaks emotional). I thought this was the most emotional moment in the series history. We finally get to meet his father but it doesn't get revealed till he the letter replies "I was the one who delivered the letter"
- Fonzie meets his brother. Fonzie read's a note or incription in the watch his brother gives to him from his father. He chokes up after reading the message.

Welcome convoy31! It just shows that Fonzie is human like everyone else. I love those episodes!

Because he was supposed to be so cool & so tough when Fonzie would get emotional and let his guard down, it drove home the seriousness of the story, in contrast to the other chacaters who were emotional all the time.

Don't forget he cried in the ep where he almost put Grandma Nussbaum in the retirement home.
