Okay. I am a collector of Lucy. I even have a lot of the stick figure footages. I also have the Phillip Morris Cigarette ads and the promotion to donate to cerebral pulsey organizations. Will they air the original Phillip Morris commercials? If anyone works for TVLAND will they air the original end credits with the Phillip Morris package in the background while the names are being scrolled? Wouldn't that be some special nostalgia?

I doubt they will air the cigarette commercials, but it would be nostalgic if they did!

I saw it and they didn't. The only new thing they put in the I Love Lucy shows is the animation shorts. They are very brief. I think that it would be special if they could actually get some of the old sponsors that they used to advertise for and then advertise the way that they really did. I am thinking of taking the original episodes with some of the old commercials in them. Then you'd really be in the 1950's.

The FCC would not allow for a minute for them to blatantly advertise for Phillip Morris cigarrettes. Given the ratings that this marathon probably is getting and given the amount of people under 18 that may watch this marathon compared to a regular episode of I Love Lucy, the FCC probably put a lot of restrictions on it. (Unlike Game Show Network's showing of the word "Winston" on it's IGaS set, since it wasn't blatantly ADVERTISING (though, they were a parting gift), they made up by airing anti-smoking commercials). Almost definitely, the FCC wouldn't allow the original commercials to be shown, I am unsure about the opening and closing credit sponsorships, though.

I noticed that they showed like 5-10 second clips of Phillip Morris related advertising during the first episode. Is there a time rule, like 5 seconds is okay, but no more?

Same must go for Old Golds on Two for the Money. Regular or King Size?

They ddin't actually show the commercials, and when they did show parts of actual commercials, they never actually showed someone receiving or smoking the cigarettes, and there were other things that probably allowed bits and pieces to be shown for historical purposes, as these were.
