Okay i know FT wrapped up in 89 but why didn't they shwo the last episode until August of 89 instead of May when season finales usually occur. Woulnd't it have made more since that why? Why start out a new season of TV shows with a final episode of one? That was weird.

Yep it ended on May 14, 1989. It was a Sunday and I was in the 6th grade...

Now I think they ran reruns until August of 1989, that may be where they are getting confused. But the final episode was in May, I still have it on tape.
