If ABC would have listened to the demands of the BB following, and the show had been renewed for a third season.. what changes would you have made to try to improve the ratings?

Would you have kept the entire cast?

Would the guys continue to run their own business, or go back to work for Ruth at the agency?

Would they stay at the Susan B. Anthony, or get a regular apartment?

The show needed better writing; some fresh ideas for plots, and to let the characters grow without being too sappy or dramatic. They had great one-liners and jokes, some hilarious scenes and great actors with talent and chemistry together, but that wasn't enough.

They would've had to add some new characters, i dont know if they needed to get RID of anyone though.

I liked the guys running their own business, it would've been nice if they had more wacky clients and ad campaigns to work on.

They'd HAVE to stay at the Susan B. - why get a regular apartment? That was the whole premise of the show - unless they found some NEW reason to dress in drag....

The whole cast was great. What hurt the show was them revealing themselves to the girls that soon.. That should have waited until the 5th season at least. They could have added some new characters as the show grew.It couldn't have hurt.

You could tell, that with the second season, they were already attempting to put the fact that they had to dress up as women in the background. I think if the show had come back for a third, that whole original plot might have eventually faded. I remember reading somewhere that the makeup and costumes were a real pain, so that's probably why things changed as early as the second season.

No, I don't think they fully took advantage of the dressing up as women gag, and some of the different situations that could have taken place. Infact, the first season episodes all had some big moral, and I didn't think the show really got that funny(with a few exceptions)until season two, but surprise, they decided to do away with the majority of the original premise. I actually still thought the show was funnier though, but they started to lose it some with the last few episodes, mainly the ones that were filmed in '82, they must have known their days were numbered.

My theory is this: I think if the show had just been about two buddies living/working together, and the dressing up plot was never used, it maybe could have made it. Or, if they had used the dressing up storyline, but really taken advantage of it, it maybe could have, but then again, I think that sort of plot is always going to be living on borrowed time.

Tom and Peter were great. The Kip/Sonny, Henry/Amy thing was pretty good, and Ruth was funny, but I think the actors were better than some of the writing they were getting.

I think they would've added 2 new characters (a guy and a girl) in the 1982-1983 season. I think that girl who played Cecily Dunbar (Ruth's niece on Kip and Sonny's Date ep) would've been a series regular.

wouldn't it have been ironic if they had let the guys move into a regular apartment, only to have them forced to dress up in drag on a daily basis for WORK? :lol:
