View Full Version : why is the sitcom "Ellen" not syndicated? peter may 03-23-2003, 07:21 AM it was on lifetime a few years back, but it is such a great show, it should be shown everyday:mad: TVFactFan 03-25-2003, 08:31 PM Originally posted by peter may it was on lifetime a few years back, but it is such a great show, it should be shown everyday:mad: Because TV stations know that nobody will watch Ellen if the aired the show. Adamantium 03-26-2003, 12:27 AM Originally posted by SOLOMON Because TV stations know that nobody will watch Ellen if the aired the show. I'd watch. I watched "Ellen" on Lifetime. And it's one of my favorite shows (no. 9 to be exact). As for the actual question in the thread, I don't know why it's not syndicated. I'd see it fitting nicely at TBS Superstation. One person won't be enough-LOL Adamantium 03-26-2003, 07:33 PM Originally posted by SOLOMON Well Tv stations will need more people than you to watch Ellen. Let me guess, you love being stupid? Ellen has fans, that's why the show lasted more than a year. I love Ellen, it should be shown on local stations or cable stations because Ellen rocks!!!! :guitar: Originally posted by TVAdam You're right. But I'm sure I'm not the only one that would watch it. You're right. Ellen has more fans then just us. TVFactFan 04-17-2003, 04:19 PM Originally posted by Barnabas You're right. Ellen has more fans then just us. Ellen will never be picked up by no TV network. The End. Adamantium 04-17-2003, 04:38 PM Originally posted by SOLOMON Ellen will never be picked up by no TV network. The End. Not "The End". I figure if WGN can show reruns of "Suddenly Susan", than I see no reason why (although I'm sure you'll tell me), Ellen can't be in reruns as well. What do you have against the show anyways? It's not entertaining Adamantium 04-17-2003, 04:57 PM Originally posted by SOLOMON It's not entertaining I think it is entertaining. And since when was being entertaining the criteria for a show to be on in reruns. There are lots of shows in syndication that are so freakin' boring. I understand you don't like the show, and I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just defending one of my favorite shows. Christopher 04-17-2003, 06:08 PM Originally posted by SOLOMON It's not entertaining To you, but to other thousands of people Ellen is a freakin funny hilarious show. I just love Ellen, the actress, she knows how to be funny. BundyBoy10 04-26-2003, 05:48 PM BLAH! I wouldnt watch this show if you paid me. Adamantium 04-26-2003, 08:44 PM Originally posted by BundyBoy10 BLAH! I wouldnt watch this show if you paid me. I'd watch it for free. In fact, I just recently bought some tapes off of Ebay. So I'm paying someone else to watch "Ellen". If you don't like it, oh well. Will and Grace Fanatic 05-11-2003, 09:12 AM You know you got a great question there. I don't know why either. It did well in the ratings on ABC except for the last season. And it even placed 5th in overall ratings during its second season. TVFactFan 05-11-2003, 11:56 AM Originally posted by Will and Grace Fanatic You know you got a great question there. You should know why the show was cancelled Christopher 05-11-2003, 01:24 PM Originally posted by SOLOMON You should know why the show was cancelled Because ABC is a discrimination network. jmo Nanny Fine 05-31-2003, 10:34 PM I have no idea why some station, Oxygen maybe, is'nt airing this show. IT's hilarious. I'm acquiring the entire series slowly (watching a tape of it right now!) but surely and I'm enjoying every single moment of it. I'm laughing like not many other shows make me laugh. I LOVE Ellen, her physical comedy is top notch, her rambling is hilarious. Discriminate all you want. This show rocks. Agent 99 06-08-2003, 01:05 AM I agree, Ellen rocks. Both the show and the actress were absolutely hilarious. The supporting cast was also fabulous, and the physical comedy was superb. I watched it on ABC and Lifetime, and I'd happily watch it on whatever network started showing it. webuster 11-01-2003, 11:25 AM Ellen has almost always been on one network or the other in UK syndication. For a long time it was on a terrestial tv network during it's run, and some more channels after. Now it is on digital television channel Paramount- and does quite well in ratings, that's why they've kept it for so long- and shown all ellen's standup and 'The Ellen Show'. Ellen's hilarious- she was voted funniest person in 1982 as well, lots of other things (like being the only female comedian Johnny Carson invited to talk to him after her standup) and her first book is hilarious. I don't know how anyone doesn't find her show funny. |
