Every watch a rerun of a show. And you wait for it to get to a certain season (s) of a sitcom. That happens to me sometimes and always seems to take forever. And when they do get to my favorite season (s), it seems like such a short time before they are done with that season (s). Here are my examples.
M.A.S.H. (1972-75), I love the Mac Lean Stevenson era, and it seems that FX or my local Syndicator is never showing an episode from that season.
Cheers (1982-87), Dam, Nick at Nite recently speed up the airing of the Diane years, skipping episodes in record numbers. As soon as they got to the Rebecca years. They stopped skipping episodes. Comspericy?
Newhart (1982-84), I love the first two seasons. Especially season one, Bob Newhart was hilarous. Then instead of letting him be funny, he was just the straight man to every character on the show exept for his wife. And it became the Michael and Stephanie/ Larry, Darryl, and Darryl show. Whenever it is was shown on Nick at Nite, or TNN, it seemed like it was always in the 1984-90 seasons. Also note, that after the second season, creator Barry Kemp left the show.
A Different World (1987-88), Unlike the other shows I mentioned, I am not saying this season was the best one. It it just that is so different from the rest of the show's run. I love the 80's R&B music they played in the background in many scences. WWOR channel 9 in New York, always jumps from season to season and rarely does it jump to season one. I love all of the seasons of the show. They just give season one it's own timeslot and the 1988-93 seasons their own timeslots because the show was so different. Also note, just like in Newhart, there was a behind the scence change, producer Annie Betts was replaced by Debbie Allen.
Infact they should do that with all of the shows I mentioned, give certain season, their own timeslot.
