View Full Version : Whats Everyone's Favorite Vcr ? dave w. 03-22-2003, 01:48 PM WAS WANDERING WHAT EVERYONES FAVORITE VCR IS ? RCA, SANYO, SANSUI ETC.... AND WHATS THE BEST HOOKUP BETWEEN THE 2, RCA JACKS OR COAX TO COAX ? garrettgam 03-22-2003, 02:09 PM Sanyo, definitely. The hi-fi ones. I have 3 myself in my room. Garrett Agent 13 03-22-2003, 04:19 PM We prefer the Go Video because it cuts out a good amount of the commercials. I wish it'd work on all of them. Oh, well. vhshunter 03-22-2003, 07:00 PM JVC is the best I ever had. secret_defender 03-22-2003, 10:54 PM Audio / Video Cables if setup correctly will make the copy exactly like the master, can't tell them apart unless you label the tapes. Coax: doesn't send messages to each vcr fast enough so it the copy will have some flaws; it will step down a notch in quality Always test your hookups before copying to be on the safe side. My opinion: always use the heavy weight vcrs and you won't have any problem except once in a while cleaning and the rare occurrence of a belt replace; never use light weight vcrs they are cheap made, all plastic nothing replaceable, some cannot handle everyday use, some have squeal noise which cannot be fixed, some will ruin quality on the tapes, never last 2 years while the heavy can last years on end if not misused. Duel Decks like Go Video are nice but are expensive. Agent 13 03-25-2003, 12:13 PM Another one we enjoy is the Sanyo TV Guardian VCR. At first you tend to put the swear words in with the silent seconds, but after awhile, you don't do that anymore. It's great for any family, but especially for family's with children. Little jugs have big ears, and there's nothing worse than hearing a small child swear (groan). bb25 04-16-2003, 09:26 PM We have an RCA 4-head HiFi "AccuSearch" VCR that's over 2 years old now and with everday use is still going strong! We also recently bought a JVC 4-head HiFi at Christmas, haven't used it to record, but it plays the tapes crystal clear... Anyone try a "Commercial Skip" VCR? Does it really edit commercials out on it's own? DetectiveGriffin 04-23-2003, 09:40 PM My favorite vcr was my "angel baby" go deck. 2 vcrs in one - loop record a weekend long tv land marathon and only have to change tapes every 12-16 hours. Both decks could record the same program at the same time, to get 2 off air copies, and the kicker -- it didnt have to be turned off for the timer to work. If you program it to record something it records it when its time, no turning it off and hitting a timer button. Then, if you hook another vcr up on top of it, you can use both decks of the go deck to record 2 second generation copies of something, or you can watch one tape while recording off the tv with the other deck. Oh i loved that vcr. Its in the closet now, it got messed up with a power surge or something. My friend from chicago is coming up and will take it home with her, since there is an authorized repair center out there. I really hope it can be fixed, it's a doll. |
