I liked the episodes with Richie and Ralph way better than Chachi and all of the others. What about everyone else: 70's episodes or 80's episodes?

The original gang is there :D Chad22 03-22-2003, 04:27 PM Tied. iluvfonzie 03-22-2003, 04:47 PM I like them both in different ways. FonzForever 03-22-2003, 08:03 PM The 70's no contest. I like them all, but the 70's eps were classics that can be watched over and over. For me anyway the 80's aren't like that. If an 80's ep in on and I alreayd have it on tape, I don't watch it all the time. The 70's eps I always watch no matter what. Mind you this perspective comes from seeing much of the series in it's original run. It's not just a syndicated show for me, I have memories to go along with the times the eps aired. In the 80s pop culture blew up the sixties as a reference for that generation so the the real lost innocence of the 50s had to go. I liked to evolution,. and wished it played into the early nineties or at least 1987 where the seventies happened. Would have been a nice cross reference for "that 70s show",...which ironically takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I vote 80s. Note "Laverne" ended her story lines in 1969 as Carmine was going off to do hair episode ..was year what? 1985-6? I would waited to hear more references of the Fonz in 1969. I think there were a few brief mentions in Laverne and & Shirley shows. Stormtracker TF 03-23-2003, 02:31 AM Originally posted by dickswift All was good in revelation of world history too. I thought l&S stayed on a few more years than Happy Days "Crossroads".? Like, Laverne went space Shirley got married...etc...Feeney Meeny and, Larverne sang at rock n roll peace festival, and grew her hair..longer. Lenny and Squiggy became like hollywood producers or something weird like that. Chad22 03-23-2003, 03:29 AM Kinda cool how Happy Days Outlived all its Spinoffs. Barnabas1 03-23-2003, 08:01 AM I think it would've been better if they ended the show at episode 167 and just started a whole new show that spun off of HD then. That way, It'd be like a new show. That way, It'd be like a new show. I understand the theory. but it wouldn't worked. Happy Days was a franchise show. Think about like this. Many times on the boards you see people saying how they don't like the 80's as much but it's still Happy Days so they watch it. Carry that over into the show's original run. The show changed throughout the years but people still watched b/c it was Happy Days. A show they invested a lot of years watching. If it wasn't Happy Days anymore many people may have stopped watching. Who knows how more of the actors may have left too? Being part of an established show is one thing. A brand new one is another matter entirely. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 03-23-2003, 01:43 PM 70's!!!!!!!!!! To me, the 80's was like a mini spin off because it was so completely different, but it was still HD.:D AnaheimPMWitch 03-23-2003, 04:37 PM I agree 70s ALL THE WAY BLT 03-26-2003, 10:11 AM The 80s. I'm not as familiar with the '70s episodes. I like the emphasis that Joanie & Chachi had during much of this time. |
