¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 03-21-2003, 01:01 AM BUGS! The moment it starts to get warm they all start coming out. I just got done having a fit because a moth was in here. Thankfully, I managed to kill it with my Dads shoe. Anyone else not looking forward to bug season? Any paticular bug you are afraid of? Im afraid of all bugs naturally, but man, you put me in a room with a moth and its all done for me.

Nanny Fine 03-21-2003, 01:15 AM I used to live in an apartment that was above a business insurance office. They had one of those bright neon signs on the side of the house that attracted bugs like crazy. Not a big deal except that stupid sign (It was HUGE) was right below the ONLY WINDOW in my living room and my living room was infested with those teeny weeny bugs that were able to get through the screen. It was horrible and there was no way to solve that problem.
Well I eventually moved but now a bug here or there isn't good (I hate them) but every time I complain of a single bug I remember that apartment and am glad I dont have that problem anymore.
DarleneIllyria 03-21-2003, 02:24 AM Oh yeah, I noticed the signs early today. I saw a dead cockroach on the floor, guess one of the cats killed it. You can usually tell when I hit one with a shoe or a broom. I hit it until guts are splattered. Yeah, I know it's disgusting to describe, but roaches are tricky bastards. You can kill one and think you killed one, but five minutes later, they're crawling again. I curse my luck. I hadn't seen one in quite a few weeks and now they come back.
In answer to your question, I'm really terrified of cockroaches. Just my luck, that's the main ones that come around. I don't mind the small ones. I can kill one of them in minutes. It's just the really, really fat ones that can fly just scares me to death. If the roach is in a really high spot, it'll take me an hour to get up the nerve to kill him. I have to wait until it comes to the floor and crawls down and then I can hit it with the broom. I hate the ones that stay in the high spots for like 2 hours. Ooh, that makes me so mad.
dawsongirl 03-21-2003, 02:46 AM I forgot...I killed an ugly spider the other day. IN MARCH!!
Three'sCompanyrules 03-21-2003, 04:24 AM I hate Moths, spiders and Bees or any bug that has a stinger, but out of all of those I hate spiders the most. You know how people has trophies of animals on there wall, well I have spider trophies all over my wall.:D
Hollow 03-21-2003, 04:47 AM I thot u were talkin about the war or somethin lol
I plug the sinks and bathtubs at nite so there aint no bugs crawlin in. come to think of it i feel kinda stupid to be so scared of those lil bitches.
GrapeJelly 03-21-2003, 09:31 AM Blegh I killed a spider just this morning. I really hate those bugs with waaaay too many legs that crawl in through the sink. I think they're called Silverfish, or something like that.
Penny Lane 03-21-2003, 10:23 AM Spiders are the most disgusting animals on the planet!

Has anyone had that happen to them ? Its scary lol
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 03-21-2003, 10:33 AM Mosquitos freak me out. Just the thought of something sucking your blood out...ew. And have you ever seen close up pictures of them? Makes you glad they are the size they are...freaking little mongrels.
Last year there was a wasps nest in our attic and they kept getting in the house. It was awful. GOD I HOPE THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN...worst thing was it was near the computer room, too.Ah!
Moonlight Lady 03-21-2003, 11:00 AM We had a bat in the cellar once, In the middle of winter. I was down there, doing wash and I saw something flying around. I screamed, dropped the laundry basket and ran up the stairs through the kitchen and into the livingroom.
Me: There's a bat in the cellar!
Dad: A bat? Margaret!
Mom: I gotta go Deb, Your father and sister are freaking out.
We turned off all the lights and opened the back door and it flew out.
I hate all bugs except ladybugs and butterflies.
*PinkLady* 03-21-2003, 05:04 PM I hate anything that stings, i.e. bees and wasps. I don't really mind any other kind of bug.
Springtime in my beloved Big Apple means only one thing.
Like the birds returning from their Winter nesting, New York City's most infamous four legged citizens will soon be making their presence known in the wee hours of the morning on Subway platforms, street corners and garbage cans.
The bugs don't bother me. The rats freak me out...
;)
Moonlight Lady 03-21-2003, 05:20 PM Just be glad rats don't have wings.

Rockapella722 03-21-2003, 11:31 PM bees/wasps/hornets/yellowjackets... anything in the bee family. even the little honeybees that never sting anyone. i just hate their little dance-like way of flying and hovering. and the fact that they go in your soda is a pain in the @ss, too.
Swimfan85 03-21-2003, 11:37 PM yah...I flip when bugs are on me and i see spiders...im such a girl in that aspect...haha not like when iz be thugging it

Brian 03-22-2003, 01:26 AM I really hate ants. There was a several month period a few years ago in which my house became infested with them.

Once I saw two big fat ones.. you know, the ones that fly... in a row... one was semi-fluttering, and the other crawling on the freaking ceiling... man, I don't think I've ever been so frightened. I literally screamed and ran out the apt. Man, if the windows were opened, I might have been crazy enough to jump.
This reminds me of the other time in NJ when I saw this huge spider crawling down from a web hanging about a branch. I didn't see it until I got real close.. I I flinched, jumped out onto the streets... haha, a car woulda ran over me if the driver didn't have fast reflexes, but luckily, he did, so.. hehe.
Now I'm just babbling.

i hate hate hate anything that flys too. including mosquitoes. ahh Ants don't bother me.. they're too tiny, lol. And I don't really see many ants in the apt, so I'm fine with them. Flies bug me though... when they get real close to yah, you can hear them buzz.. it's just ugggh.
Bees are scary too.
If they didn't sting, werent so big, and didn't fly so fast and smoothly about, maybe I wouldn't be. But since they do... yeah, lol.
Butterflies are pretty. Except for the larger moths..they're scary.
Dragonflies scare me too. They're huge.
Then there are the harmless.. or so what I think, yellow and red ladybugs.

I wonder why they never get run over when the train comes, hmm, lol.
And am I the only one who's paranoid about being shoved down into the tracks?
Pigeons poop all over the place. I perfer the tiny brown ones.. what are they called?

I would've died. On good days, I could kill one big one, but no way could I kill two within minutes.
One of those big ass roaches got on my arm one time. Oh geez, it wasn't fun for me. I was sitting on the couch and I look down and see this roach and I shook my arm and the thing flies off of me. I stood up and started screaming my head off. I ran around the house just screaming my head off for about 10 minutes. My parents said I prob. killed the thing by screaming so loud, but I'm just scared of them. I've always been scared of them and when you're so scared of something and then you actually have one crawling on you, it's creepy.

Like I said before, it'll take me an hour to kill a big one in a high spot. One night, this one roach got really high up on the wall. I'm taking the broom and I'm trying to kill, knock it down, something. It goes right behind the couch, and I just had to sit there and wait for the damn thing to come back out. It starts crawling again and if I hit it again, it would just go behind the couch again. Indeed it did. Crawls back up again, I hit it again and it falls behind the couch again. I know that must've happened about 3 or 4 times. I wait until it crawls to an available space and I use a water gun to shoot it down. It lands on this table thing and I took the broom and just started slamming it on it. I know I must've spent 2 hours waiting for that bug to get to an available spot. I hate them. Geez, I hate them.

I often play "spot the rodent" when I'm waiting for a train.
Two points per rat spotted on the tracks and one point per mouse. Although for some reason I've only spotted mice on the tracks of the PATH trains.
Rats stay off the platforms during the day (becasue they're nocturnal and the patforms are busier), but I often take the subway early in the morning to go to a job, so from time to time I see them scurrying around freely. The worst is when I have to go down the stairs to catch a train and I run into a few as I round a corner or something.
Good things there's very few people there to see me freak out!
