I hate the fact they are changing the Oscar's this year cos of the war. The red carpet, which is one of the best parts with the celebs giving their nice talks, is gone. Even the film montage is edited, to suit more serious topics because of war. It's stupid, even the host steve martin's monologues are toned down, and he is very funny person. This shouldn't be done- even though war is real, it doesn't mean it should be everywhere, reminding and depressing you, slapping you in the face,- there should always be comedy. Everyone thought it was wrong when almost every ep in the late season of Ellen was about lesbians, it was cancelled cos it only focused on that- so why should we also be pissed of by the war, when it's already dominating news, disrupting timetables. What do you all think- do you agree or disagree with the oscar changes? I stronglyn disagree.

Both. One hand I disagree because we should show respect and not act like nothing is going on. On the other hand, we need to take our minds off of it and still live on with our lives even for a few hours.

In this time, more cheerful, not of this world films should be made, including musicals, musicals take everyone's mind of it all, cos they usually aren't real, and arent the real world. More, spoof, (not scary movie-ish, more using every cliché type) making fun of ( Rocky Horror made fun of alot of films, and used every cliché) other films, with eccentric characters, and lots of comedy, not buddy cop films, there's no reason not to stop enjoying ourselves, everyday, even before the war, children are dying of AIDS and starvation in Africa, but we don't change our films for them.
