I have always pondered this: Where do you think the I Love Lucy series would have gone, plot wise, if Ricky hadn't talked Lucy out of her big Hollywood Contract in Lucy and The Dummy? Would you like it as much if Lucy was the star and Ricky wanted to be in HER show?

Personally I wouldn't. I love how much she tries to get in on the show. It's so funny. That's the best part of the show.Fav. ep. of Lucy trying to get in on one of Ricky's shows: The episode called "The Audition". Great classic comedy!! Bye all!

Probably not. Some of the best episodes revolved around Lucy trying to "get into the act."

I could see them dragging that for a few episodes, but Lucy would get to missing being a housewife and things would go back to normal.

Brock, you KNOW how I'd feel about that! I'd love Lucy being the star because she is just that. Plus, you know how I feel about Desi.

Yeah, it's definitely safer not to go there. Let's change the subject.... let's talk about... Lucie! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eyes.gif Ha ha.

Is there a thread where onelucy has discussed this? I'd be very interested to hear since I'm not too fond of Desi myself, though I don't think I'm quite as hostile. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

And as much as I'd love to see Ricky's jaw hit the floor when Lucy finally got into show business (it'd serve him right!), many of the funniest plot lines were Lucy trying to get in the act so I really don't know. Tough question!

Someone needs to explain to me why onlyonelucy dislikes Desi so much.

That would make it hard to watch "I Love Lucy", no?
