I think that their "relationship" is HOGWASH!!!!! What the junk is wrong with Marlena, HELLO!!!!! He is manipulating her like crazy!! I don't think that this will be the destruction of J&M's marriage, I mean they are meant to be, SURELY, the writers know BETTER than to split them up permanately. And I'm AGAINIST PHONY BOLONEY MONY BIG TIME!!!!!! I think that it is going to be the next Jope!!!! But this time Marlena will be the one that is written WAY out of character, and is mean and cold towards John. I really want to know why Corday wants to end this show. I remember back during the week of J&M's reunion in 1997 Days had a 6.9 in the ratings, which just goes to show that J&M are the money couple when written correctly. Now today after almost 3 years of Lanagan's HORRIBLE DESTRUCTION of J&M (and the teen invasion) and now the creation of HORRIBLE Mony, the ratings are at a 3.4 and worse!! That in my opinion is proof that Days is losing viewers everyday, and Mony isn't helping AT ALL. I can name 25 J&M fans that have stopped watching this week! Some have been watching the show for almost 20 years and have stood and took every beating the writers have given J&M fans but now with this Mony coming they believe that it is Jope made over and that there is no hope for the chance of a new J&M story about their love and that has both John and Marlena written in character. J&M fans waited 13 years for John and Marlena to get married, again, this time for forever, then after all that waiting we were patient and we expected a good J&M storyline, about J&M and even get to see them raise their kids but no that might keep the ratings up, so we get a Jope storyline, and they SORAS their kids 10 years. Then after suffering for almost 3 years, we thought that finally Lanagan was gone and Paula and Peter were going to save the show but they set up Mony and now Dena Higley has taken over, she is writing several other characters better and even John is sorta being written in character, but now Marlena is being turned into some kind of IDIOT!! UGGGH!! I am 1000000% AGAINIST A MONY PAIRING!! I'm sick of suffering through crap!!! Give us a story finally a story it has been 4 years and I think everyone has waited enough it's been 17 years my goodness.

well I just want to say, that I've been a fan since 1998, and every epsoide has been great, now for the past 6 months I haven't had time for Days do to work and school, but I will tell you I tuned in Tuesday, and I was not happy about the way John and Maralna are treating each other, I was so confused, and then when I found out that the twins were Marlna's biologically, I was like, oh great their goes Days down the drain. The only part I like is the Bell/Shawn & Brady/Chloe story, what happend to my favorite soap opera?

Well... there is this new writer, I think her name is Dena Higley or something like that. Ever since she became the new writer, Days has been a total crock. Days should bring back the writers' they had last year, they were bringing Days alive with their writing, but this new writer is, IMO ruining Days. They should give this new da@@ writer the frickin' axe.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this, I've met *alot* of people online who
feel the exact same way as I do.

OMG I know the begining of last year's storyline was brillant, and then boom, the storyline is soooo lame, hopefully they'll bring back the old writers, I wonder why they hired a new one?

Going back to what I said about "I don't know why Corday wants to end this show?" Corday hasn't said that or anything, I just meant that it looks like he just doesn't care if the fans are happy and happy fans keep the show on, not angry fans who stop watching it.

Now on to the new writer and old writer subject, Paula & Peter (the writers earlier this year) in my opinion were doing a good job in early 2002 but in about January of 2003 they started "the twits are Marlena's mess" and February sweeps was a JOKE!!! They did a great job during November Sweeps but February was awful. In my opinion they needed to be demoted (they are still on the Days writing staff they were just demoted from Head Writer). They in my opinion made Days the Shelle hour in February and January and that made a LOT of Bope fans mad, because Shawn was the focus of The Murder at Midnight story and they wanted the story to be more about Bope,(but of course the J&J fans are the ones who really feel they got jipped out of The Murder @ Midnight storyline but that's another rant,) and then when Larry locked Hope in the house, who was there with her, it was Belle of course and who saved Hope and Belle from the house why Shawn of course, that REALLY ticked off a lot of Bope fans.

BUT, Dena Hogwash Higley (as I now call her) isn't doing anything at all for me, she is destroying one of Daytime's most admired characters, Marlena. Not to mention one of Daytime's greatest supercouples John and Marlena. All I know is that if she doesn't undo the MESS it's not going to be pretty and I do believe that Days will get worst HH numbers than Passions does (no offense Passions fans) before it's all over.

I also know why they hired Dean Higley, or at least Corday said that he hired her because she has been on the Days writing staff for almost 13 years (or mabye 14 I don't exactly remember) and she has a long term plan for Days that impressed Corday so much that he decided to hire her. That was said back when she first got the job, and also they hired her because she was writing character driven writing not plot driven (though I have yet to see it on the J&M homefront) and it was going to be cheaper, yes that's what Corday said that Character Driven writing was cheaper because there are less BIG events involving set construction and such. I can only see that as the reason, her writing is CHEAP and it SHOWS!!!

I'm glad that Marlena, is remembering stuff now,from the past about the twins...And i dont think it's right for Tony, to become in between John and Marlena...just b/c them 2 can't get along....
But Tony is trying to get with Marlena..cuz he's in love with her!

I hate this whole storyline. The whole thing is ridiculous.

The REAL Marlena will believe John when he tells her that Tony tried to kill him, but whose to say that Dena Higley will write Marlena in character on this judgement she hasn't on anything else. But from what I've heard Marlena does indeed believe John. I really think that this is going to be the final nail in Days' coffin, no J&M means no Jarlena fans watch, and at this point no watchers no ratings, no show. The ratings are down to an ALL TIME LOW, at 2.8. Can you guess why?? The three T's are being shoved down everyone's throats, (Teens, Twins, Tony) not to mention the constant bickering between J&M. This is not my couple that I see, every once in a while I see the REAL J&M glimmer through a scene. J&M fans have had nothing to watch but crap for the last 4 years and we are sick of it!! Chris one reason why you probably hate John so much is because you've never seen him, the REAL John. He's been written out of character ever since the beginning of the J word, otherwise known as Jope, granted Higley and Bash & Cwickly's version of John isn't too bad off, it's being tarnished by the fact that Marlena one of Daytime's most popular characters is being written out of character for the first time since she first came to Salem, in 76! If that doesn't make the ratings dive I don't know what will. The week of J&M's reunion in 97 the ratings were a remarkable 6.8 and today after all of Langan and Higley's character assasinations they are at an all time low of 2.8. It's makes me wonder just what it's going to take for TPTB to listen to J&M fans. Will they ever listen to us, again? They better or this show is gonna TANK!!

And in response of the thing about John getting up in Tony's face, he has a RIGHT too!! Crap, Tony is trying to steal John's life, because Marlena is his life without her he'd crumble, and besides that anyone who remembers Aremid, knows that Tony framed John for his murder, John was just moments away from death. Tony is the one with the problem he's the one that keeps on insisting that John stole Kristen. Which is a LIE!!! Kristen threw herself at John hid the truth from him that she wasn't pregnant and kept him and Marlena apart even helped Stefano kidnap her and was successful twice. So in my opinion if I was John I be doing a lot more than just getting up in his face, Tony deserves to rot in jail.

Okay I haven't seen this show lately, just like the last 3 to 6 episodes, I wanted to see for the "big earthquake" :rolleyes: they were supposed to have which turned out dumb. So Tony is using his kids to get to Marlena? Well what ever it takes to get Marlena I say go for it, BUT Tony still loves his kids. He was going to help save Rex when he was kidnapped. So Tony isn't a bad guy when it comes to his kids.


I know John was also going to help save Rex, but John is annoying. Maybe if they changed his character or the actor, he might be interesting.

I feel your pain, and I don't mind your screaming. I've got a question. Would your view of Days and it's characters be more positive if the show had of ended directly after J&M's wedding? No Sub Scene, no teen invasion, no tarnished characters, no Jope, no Mony, no stupid storylines and reactions. I'm going with YES! Crap, it would have hurt me then and I would have wanted it to go on, but if I knew what I know now, I would just want it to go out on top, well close to the top, anyway, and just end. I'd have a lot more respect for it that way, and mabye people would remember it as the great soap it once was, instead of this sorry excuse for a soap.

I really don't know if my views would be more positive, that's hard to answer. I certainly would not have wanted Days to end. But if Days had ended we wouldn't have had to deal with the teen scene and with the current crappy storylines. On the negative side, there would have never been the Broe couple and other great couples. But if Days does end, I would wish and would want that Days go out with a bang, instead of this way. That's kind of a double-sided question, I really wouldn't know how to answer that. JMHO!!!

Well, I could REALLY care less for Broe, I just don't see their chemistry, and Shelle they are ok, but they ain't my cup of tea either, you know. I'd just rather there be Bope and Jarlena, but that's just my opinion.

Did anyone catch Days today? I loved the scenes with John and Tony. Man, John really reamed Tony today, I loved it. Today was actually good, I was on the edge of my seat when it came to the scenes between John and Tony. I thought John's first few lines were great, when Tony turned off the lights and John said something like, "John is dead" and other various lines. I don't know why, but I loved it!!!!!!!!!

It was in SOW, or so I heard, and Ken Corday said that it was being terminated and Jarlena and Tony were all being backburned. CORNADAY SAID IT!!! As for when I don't know, all I know is that it showed up in SOW this week. :mad:

I don't know. I think Bope is a horrible couple too lol I am not much of a fan on couples. I hate Hope. I don't like her character. When she is Princess Gina, then I like her because she is interesting and evil. It is cool watching her play Gina imo

I agree and disagree. I like Hope and her character, but when she was Princess Gina, I loved watching her being so evil.
It was definitely a twist seeing her act like a villian.

IF you don't like supercouples then you obviously have not been watching this show back in the day, to me it's sad that for the past 4 years Corday has been shoving hogwash, and now today we have a small number of fans who hate the supercouples. I'm not saying that they are everyone's cup of tea, I'm saying that back when they had awesome storylines the viewers got involved, even if they didn't like them. I think it's all a load of crap that the Teens are slowly taking over this show, you know I've watched it get handed to them over the past few years and it's getting to the point of no return, to the way things were. I wish that Corday would have just handed the show to them, had some kind of ceremony and told us the truth that our faves are gone, here are the new characters. But instead we have to suffer and watch them disappear.

eww, i noticed the stupid storylines for the teens. i HATE it! and the background music sucks too. i've switched back over to AMC, cuz about a week ago, friday, i watched the final episode of Days for that week. then, later when i was bored, i tuned in to AMC, and it is WAY better than the current Days storyline. Days sets and AMC scripts would make the perfect soap. Days has awesome sets.

Not true. I like Jack & Jennifer they are a funny couple. Roman and Kate are a great couple, but I don't think they are a super couple yet uh?

Well argueably J&J aren't a supercouple that's one of those great debates, that's always been going on. Rate isn't a supercouple, they could be though. Princess Gina would have been a good character if not for that stupid crap with John. I would have liked her if not for all of that crap that happened. It gave Kristian Alfonso a chance to show off her acting skills that's for sure, I think she did a great job.

Thank you! Someone finally brought it up! If there is anything I hate about this show, it's that they drop storylines out of nowhere and send a key actor/actress in a big storyline that has been going on for months packing without any solution to the problem. Examples? Greta. Who was her father? Sure there was speculation. It was probably John. But I want to KNOW for sure that he was. And now they are sending Brandon packing and probably won't confirm that he is in fact, Abe's son and have them discover that and make up before he leaves. I absolutely hate watching these storylines for months, even years, and then having them dropped out of nowhere. OH! What about Hattie? What ever happened to her helping Rolph kidnap Marlena and then taking her place? I know that Andrea Hall is a teacher in real life and probably didn't have much time to carry out the storyline but they could have rapped it up somehow.

And for the record: I HATE TONY AND MARLENA TOGETHER AS WELL. WHAT A CROCK! I'm not a big John and Marlena fan (I'm more of a Jack/Jenn Bo/Hope person)but putting Marlena with Tony is just pure crap. They don't look good together at all. They need to bring on someone totally new for Tony. And him trying to get closer to her because of the twins is horrible. I personally think they aren't even Marlena's children. They are probably Kate's. Don't ask me why I think that. I just do. They probably just implanted the memories into Marlena's head as another torment tactic on the Brady's/Black clans. The Dimera men have always wanted Marlena with them. Stephano all those years and now Tony. It's just completely stupid. Sorry all you "Mony" fans out there.

I know you hate Jope. I hate them too. Hope/Gina can do so much better than John.

I agree 100 % about the dropping of storylines in the middle of now where. Like Hope's gift from Stefano at the Will Reading, I think they've already forgotten about it. And Celeste and Caprice what was their brief storyline about, it had to do with the paper dolls she was left at the Will Reading. And not to mention, that whole John's father thing they did during December, it seemed like Pop Shawn could be his dad. And the Brady/DiMera feud has been dropped because Ken Corday said that the show was too dependant on DiMera's, so he proclaimed " Down with DiMeraism." and said " I wish Stefano's urn would just fall off the mantel." Joseph Mascolo who played Stefano had a lot to say about these, he blasted Corday but I can't remember his exact words something about that being proposterous and that Stefano has ties to everyone in Salem, he is an important character. Apparently Corday decided he didn't want Joe to come back and do his episodes that they traded Lauren Koslow for at B&B during the fall. Corday has a death wish for this show, he's driving nails into it's coffin faster than you can say Bite Me Kenny!

NO MATTER what these WRITERS write!!!! Tony and .,.........I can't even say it, Tony and her, have NO chemisty, no passion, they certainly aren't soulmates, and they haven't fought anything. I just want EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN, EVER, IF THIS SHOW WAS WORTH A CRAP AND KEN CORDAY CARED IF IT GOT CANCELLED!! IF this happens this show will DIE!!!! Which leads us to another STUPID TRIANGLE. John and Marlena are BEYOND triangles. They've fought everything. Why not give them a story where they fight TOGETHER. Well I guess if they did that then this show would actually LIVE and be WORTH A CRAP.
