what does everyone think about the D.V.D. show reunion that Carl Reiner mentioned doing on the TV Land Awards? I sort of have mixed feellings about it. I would watch it, but I don't think it'd be the same without Mel, Buddy, and Jerry Helper. But, as long as Dick & Mary are still around. (and still looking good, I might add).
(in case some people don't know, Mel, Buddy, & Jerry Helper are, sadly, gone):happyface

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. I have faith in Carl. I think he could do a good job, even with the added challenge of some main characters being gone. I'm glad he said he's using only the living ones. It would be too weird to see Buddy (or anybody) played by another actor. I just hope they're referred to somehow in the story.

If anyone can pull it off it will be Carl Reiner.

The possibility of a reunion show/movie/special fills me with dread, especially when it concerns a show I love as much as this one. These things just never turn out the way people thought (or wished) it would. Some will love it (maybe?) and some will hate it (maybe?) and everyone will find something about it to criticize.
For me, the best reunion is the one that plays in my head. This way, if I screw it up I can start over and not ruin anyone else's fond memories.

I'm with you, tv gen. Keep the cast suspended in time. I'd rather remember them as they were.
Count me as another vote against a reunion. The show went out on top for a reason. It's absolutely perfect as it is. IMO it should be left alone.
