does anyone recall that "special alert" about a person who saw a woman giving birth in the forest, then some guy who was with her killed the baby with a stick as soon as it was born. i think i vaguely remember them saying the persons involved were native americans. am i right?

I recall this case, although it's been years since I've seen it. I don't remember the Native American part, but you got the rest right. They never located the mother or her companion.

Cases like this really anger me.
